Q: Hi,

I need a good dividend energy stock, with some growth, and limited volatility, for the next couple years? Can you give me 2 of your favourite CDN and 2 US picks?

Q: After averaging down and waiting (far too long) I have entered break-even territory with this holding. There now appears to be significant momentum occurring. I am also quite overweight with this stock in a TFSA but would like to finally enjoy the benefits of price and dividend increases in the industry. Do you have any suggestions for swapping this holding for a more diversified security still expected to benefit by the uptick in energy stock values? I own no pipeline securities.

Q: Hello, recently Eric Nuttal called PXT a value trap and a chronic underperformer, and he previously owned the company. He also stated that mgmt is giving mixed messaging and needs to increase the div, do a special div, and increase buybacks. On paper I thought PXT was doing everything right. The amount of shares they have bought back and just confirmed again for 2022 is amazing. Yet year after year it doesn't get the valuation increase it deserves. As Eric says "the market does not care about PXT and there are no big buyers", despite of it having the best balance sheet and buybacks in Canadian o&g. Yes its up last year, but considerably lower than its peers, so there is the opportunity cost. My question is, do we often see companies buying back shares, great balance sheet, and doing most things right yet they never receive the valuation they should or is it a case of you need to be patient, maybe even for years to see the market eventually reward it.

Q: The listed oil and gas companies comprise a 4% weight in my portfolios. I have been dying in oil and gas for about a decade. However, not counting the capital losses I have taken over the years, the current portfolio of legacy and new acquistions is miraculously above water. I have promised myself to never again be so exposed to the world's most manipulated commodity. If I'm going to folow though on this self-promise I need to think about liquidating some of these positions. Question: in what order would you take down these positions?
Best wishes for 2022. David

Q: Hi Peter and team, The entire renewable sector was down substantially in 2021. What is your current view of the sector? In this sector, you seem to favor BEP.un. Interest rate is expected to rise. What is your view on the stock against such an economic backdrop? Is this a good entry point? Appreciate your insight!

Q: Hello 5i,
Aqn had an investor day earlier in the week. I understand they plan to spend $12 billion out to 2026 on new capital projects. While the expansion plans should be good for the growth of the company:
1)will getting the financial backing for these projects put pressure on the stock price and
2)will it put a cap on the dividend growth plans within the next 5 years?
Tia!
