Q: I have no strictly energy companies and I am thinking of starting positions is TVE, MEG, and BTE. I would appreciate your comments on these as a good place to start building an energy position.

Q: Hi, Imperial Oil announced strong results today a nd stock popped by over 7%. Also, Chevron and Exxon reported blowout quarters. Is this indicative of solid results from CNQ and SU, ( which are 5i favorites in the sector and owned by many of us )in coming days and is it reasonable to expect a similar stock performance ? Thanks

Q: Hi
If I want to have global exposure to Oil and Gas sector, NOT just Canadian or the US market, is IXC the only ETF option? Or should I buy XLE and add some other ETF which has exposure to Shell, Royal Dutch and other large European big oil cos? My search doesn't seem to yield anything that includes a nice balance between North America and European companies other than IXC. Any suggestions?

Your answers to others' questions seem to suggest that there is some more gain to be made in energy sector. (Paraphrasing here!) Hence this question. I already own XLE/XEG in different accounts.

Q: Hello 5i Team,
I'm helping my son build a dividend portfolio with stocks to hold long term. Would like to add a couple of pipeline names, with ENB, TRP, and PPL at the top of the list. I've read most of your previous comments on these companies, and most money managers I see on BNN speak favourably on these names in terms of sustainability of the dividends. What I don't hear mentioned often, however, is just how full these pipelines are - are they fully contracted, with no spare capacity to transport more oil and gas, or is there "slack" in the system? What's the outlook looking forward for just how full these pipeline networks will be? It would seem to me that cash flow and dividend sustainability in the future will largely depend on how full the pipeline networks are. How would you rank these companies on that basis?

Q: With oil producing companies returning the majority of cash from operations to shareholders instead of reinvesting in their business, I'm curious as to your thoughts on the long term effects this will have on the sector? Does this scenerio make companies with long life assets worth "more" now?
