Q: Hello : Sometime back I asked about AAV and decided to keep my shares but now the company continues to decline and I ask if you consider this company a keeper or time to sell. Thank you Barbara
Q: The company has now spoken so what do we now know that we had been so patient
- or not - but waiting for, and how does this news affect Anaergia prospects?
Q: Hi Folks,
I have the above Utility companies in various accounts. I am looking to add 1 more to my TFSA ( currently have EMA ) and 1 more to my wife's TFSA ( currently has BEPC ) - can you suggest which one you would recommend that I add to each TFSA, either from the above OR something new.
Thanks
Q: Looking at one of these 2 candidates for a small (~1-2%) position in a TFSA.
Could you provide some input, and which would you prefer.
Thanks as always
T.
Q: Previous question to 5i: What will be the effect on TC Energy if Coastal GasLink project price increases bya further $1.2B?
Previous 5i answer: "he noted increase would be about +10% to the current estimates. At this point, we think investors are expecting the worst and we doubt the share impact on such news would be too dramatic, perhaps 3% to 4% down."
What does 5i mean pls by "he noted increase would be about +10% to the current estimates"?
Q: I am looking at our future LNG prospects and intend on increasing my positions in TOU, ARX and BIR. Can you firstly comment on this strategy for a long term play and secondly evaluate each company on its merits. Is there a company that would be a better choice.
Please deduct as many questions as you determine,
Q: I am low in the utility sector. Is this a good time to buy? Could you please provide 4 names and rate them them in order of preference and why. Would prefer US or international exposure though Canadian is fine as well. Thank you.
Q: Not a surprise: I am seeing news media reporters with income portfolios cutting Algonquin after their recent drop and dividend cut. It is also noteworthy that it has rallied.
Realizing that it apparently made some leadership decisions that weren’t ideal, its cash flow due rate increases was flagged as a major reason for the dividend cut.
Do you see that this continues to justify this drop or should it hopefully rectify itself when rates stabilize or drop again?
Q: Hello 5i
1. What will be the effect on TC Energy stock prices if Coastal GasLink project price increases by a further $1.2 Billion
2. What will be the effects on TC Energy stock if TC is forced to reduce operating pressure on Keystone pipeline and of Keystone spill cleanup?
Thank you. Ron L
Q: Hi 5i,
Do you still favour LIFE over DHT.un? And what about holding both in a TFSA?
And what is your opinion of PPL? It never goes up? I also have ENB but they have the underwater pipeline issue. What would be alternatives?
Many thanks for your patience and great suggestions.
Connie
I currently hold XLE in my US Non Registered account and am considering taking profits now and adding an equivalent amount of XEG in my Cdn Non Registered account.
Notwithstanding the capital gin tax implications, do you think that the Canadian Energy sector offers better potential returns than the US Energy sector should Oil prices go to $90 and above and if so what would be your best idea in the Canadian Energy sector?
Q: Thinking about selling Crew as I think natural gas will continue to be weak for a few quarters if not years. I'm hesitating because I wonder about the value of their tax pools to other firms. Are there any Canadian oil and gas firms that will be taxable in the near future that might look to acquire companies with large tax pools?
Q: What is your take on the OPEC+ output cut over the weekend...will this immediate positive reaction in company stock prices be sustainable...or better to fade this rally? If the cut is a new path higher for oil stocks, which do you prefer (Cdn or US)
Q: Early in the winter I bought some Keyera, but only got about half of what I had bid for. The price started to climb, so I just let the remainder of the bid expire. The price is now back down near my initial purchase, and I am debating whether to purchase the other half (I hold a 1% position, this would make it 2%). Could you comment on:
1) current guidance from management
2) debt levels, and how this compares to others in the industry
3) dividend payout percentage
4) do you consider it a "buy", and if so, buy now or wait a bit
Q: Oil and nat gas seem to be subjects of market manipulation. Especially in light of OPEC’s sudden announcement. Can you suggest a couple of non levered etf’s that track nat gas. Greatly appreciated.
