Q: I see a news release that DND has been granted the option to extend the buyback period but that they do not anticipate doing so. I read that as a push to get more shares tendered (as it implies they don't have enough which would put the pricing at the higher end of the range) - is it something or nothing? Does it imply apathy to the offer because people are holding or do you see another view?

Q: Hello 5i, I am thinking of buying Granite Real State Investment Trust. Before I do so I would like your opinion on the company's debt compared to other major Canadian REITs? I am somewhat concerned about the following excerpt from the company profile "Granite derives nearly all of its revenue in the form of rental income from its properties. The company's largest tenant is Magna International, an automotive parts and systems manufacturer, which accounts for the majority of Granite's lease income." This is as if most of their income depends on Magna only, is that a concern to you? Thank you
Q: Good morning Team,
How much debt do you think Converge is taking on to fund the NCIB. Is there anyway that FCF is funding this?
What are your thoughts on not seeing Maine or Bernard jump in, put their money where their mouth is and buy?
Is it time to take the 55% loss and move on?

Q: What is your general feeling of Magna for next 5 years? What hinders growth? Would you move on, and possibly what is a better choice?
From a consumer perspective dealers seem unable to meet auto delivery demands (long wait times) and I would guess this should mean high demand for the Magnas of the world.
Thank you!

Q: In the news yesterday: " Irving Oil considers sale of company as part of strategic review".
Is there anything here that would interest Couche-Tard?
Thanks

Q: Hi
I'm down 50% on these two. I am thinking of selling and buying LMN with the proceeds. In 3 years would I be happy with that decision?

Q: Hello 5i
As a long time holder of CSU I'm wondering about what % of CSU TOI and LMN one might own. Without giving me specific guidance can you comment on the pros and cons of an equal weighting of each (ei 33% of each).
Thanks
Dave

Q: Hello, Shopify stock dropped almost 7%, in Today's trading. Partly it could be attributed to decline in most Technology stocks. But, I was wondering if the patent infringement suit pending in a Texas court also played a part. It was also reported today that Shopify has filed a motion to force Lower 48 IPPLC, to reveal its backers/fund, as this company has a history of such filings against prominent companies with the intention of extorting money for their group.(Last one filed by this co against INTEL was eventually dropped in a similar situation). Not sure, I have all the facts.
If you think, it's only short term noise, does the price drop present a buying opportunity ?
Thank You

Q: Hello, Stantec stock has seen good momentum and jumped from $79 to over $83, since, Friday, last week. Are you aware of any specific developments, or it's part of the relief rally in the infrastructure sector, after passing of Debt Ceiling bill in US. I am aware that Stifel bumped STN price target to $93 from $86, on Monday. Is it worth increasing our present 1.5% weighting in STN ( we are underweight in Industrials ) and if so, what will be a reasonable price level to add ? Or, it's prudent to wait for the stock to settle back to $78-79 level ? Thank You
Q: Please comment on their recent quarter result. Also your opinion on buy or hold ?
Q: We have held NWC in one of our unregistered accounts for a number of years and consequently have a 61% capital gain. In light of today's results would you advise to hold it or pay the tax and move on to something else?
Q: Looked promising for a while, then it corrected. Below IPO pricing. What is driving the negative momentum? Seeing other names gain without fundamentals close to NVEI.
- CCL Industries Inc. Unlimited Class B Non-Voting Shares (CCL.B)
- Premium Brands Holdings Corporation (PBH)
- Savaria Corporation (SIS)
Q: Hi 5i
I got to the party late on CCL.B (avg. cost $65) and PBH (avg cost $120). SIS did well at first (avg cost $8). You have all 3 as B+. Over the last 5years none of the 3 has done much. Would appreciate your thoughts on why to continue to hold and any catalyst that could get them going.
Thanks, Greg

Q: Hi
I'm confused. I have chosen two of several alerts I received on DOO.
TD: Analyst Brian Morrison lowered his price target on shares of the Canadian recreational vehicle manufacturer to $100 from $135 following its Q1 results for fiscal 2024 on Thursday. "It is our view that management is excelling at items within its control in a challenging environment, but that macroeconomic headwinds may linger and potentially intensify, thereby clouding earnings visibility," Morrison said in a note to clients.
National Bank is maintianing its Outperform rating and $143 price target. "We concede that BRP shares could remain in check due to ongoing economic uncertainty, but we believe that BRP will continue to gain market share in the coming years as it aggressively invests in new products."
Hold or Sell?

- Granite Real Estate Investment Trust (GRT.UN)

Q: PINE, excepting its relatively small size, seems to have very interesting numbers. How does it match up to such REITs as DIR.un, etc.?

Q: I know that 5i has huge respect for a company like CSU. What would be an equivalent stock in the US markets?
Q: CTS's deletion from the TSE index was announced last week. Do index funds hold a significant quantity of cts shares that they now have to sell? Would these funds already have sold in anticipation? Is deletion likely to affect cts share prices and, if so, for how long a period?
