Q: In the chart "Portfolio Total Return with Benchmark as Base (%) 5-Yr" in your monthly portfolio reports, why does it change for a given date from month to month? For example, at 2022-1-1 in the Mar 31, 2023 Growth report it is about 50%. But in the Sep 30, 2023 Growth report at 2022-1-1 it drops well below 50%. Is this not the cumulative excess return over the benchmark for the 5 year period ending 2022-1-1 in both charts and therefore it shouldn't change? Thank you.

Q: I was under the impression that CLS was a late inning performer and we are not there yet as indicated in earlier responses. So why now having sold it out of the BE portfolio at less than half its current price within the last couple of years. Is CLS an AI player ?

Q: Could you please outline the main risks to Dream Industrial REIT. I am also confused because over 2.5 years their P/E has gone from 4 to 24, yet their stock price has dropped (~$16 to $13) and their earnings have increased (as I understand it). Please correct me if I am wrong. Also, do I have it right that their NAV is ~$17? Do you know their average interest costs and if/when that might increase significantly? Other than those debt questions, and the sector, I'm wondering what I'm missing with this stock continuing to drop. Thank you.
Q: still falling, time. to sell and forget I ever bought?
Q: Not sure if I understand correctly the transactions by insiders during the last few months. The corporation has bought and sold large amounts of shares. Individuals have bought and sold some as well. Looking at the overall number of shares traded I am not so sure that the result is positive. A second question is about the forcasts for next year (02/25) profit more than double. Is that realistic in your opinion and if so the stock is currently selling at 13 X next year's PE. I'm underwater in a registered account so no tax selling benefit. Buy more ? Wait for the next earnings release?
Thank you for your great advise.
Yves

Q: good morning, I have a portfolio that follows the Balanced Equity Portfolio for the Canadian holdings. I have new money to invest and wonder if you could list the first four that you would add to with new money. (It's not enough to spread across 20 stocks)
Thanks, Rod

Q: KXS has been a slow mover the past while. At its current rate, its slowly moving towards its yearly low. I see then ast report dates back to Nov 2022. Can you provide a quick assessment as to strengths, weaknesses and what you see going forward 1, 2 and farther out? Are there any threats/risks that might arise? Is it still one of your top picks?

Tamarack Valley Energy Ltd. (TVE)
Q: What are your thoughts on BIR? It has lagged for the year and more so over
the past month. The dividend is in question, I recall $70 oil and $3 gas covers it. Is there any rationale to it being in question?
The other news I see is a new CEO coming in Jan, any thoughts on this?
Would you buy in here or would it be safe to wait for tax loss selling later in the year?
