Q: Just read your special report on small caps specifically Go Easy where you cite a growth rate of 17% mainly organically . Could you explain how this growth is accomplished ? To my albeit simple mind the sub prime lending market is something I wouldn't expect to expand unless economic times became perilous as well ..... A brief explanation of how this growth is accomplished across the three sectors of its' business model would be appreciated ? .....
Also between GSY and PRL at current stock prices which do you favour today ? .......Thankyou for your always sound council .....

Q: Hi, Boyd Group stock has been declining after its recent earnings. The company is one of the favourites with 5i. Do you believe that the issues highlighted by the management in the last earnings report are transitory and company's long term growth profile is intact ? If so, would you start a new position at current levels and at what price stock would be Extremely Attractive ? Thank You

I've held EQB for quite a while now and I'm nicely ahead, in a registered account.
I wonder though if it's reaching its peak based on its fundamentals, or if it might still gain meaningfully if and when interest rates start to decline?
The dividend is relatively minor and if notable capital appreciation isn't reasonably in the cards, I don't know that it makes sense for me to hold on any longer.
Can you give me your opinion as to what the next year or two might hold for EQB, as and if rates decline.

Q: I need to raise some funds and am looking at selling a position in DIR.UN. I have read the past questions and overall you are fairly positive about it, if one is patient. I probably will not be in this for the long term....though not your usual way to look at stocks, would you be able to do some technical analysis to get some idea whether this will bounce back from its recent downturn, at least a bit, in the next month or two?

Q: I am trying to determine the economic dynamics of bitcoin, specifically mining. Today’s G&M article on bitcoin states that with the halving and its the resultant effect , and the cap of 21 million coins , the rewards for mining will become smaller eventually approaching zero. Am I correct in this ? If miners get no reward then someday they will cease to mine. What would replace this I wonder. Economics 101 would show that a cap on anything skews the economic model and creates opportunities. I know GLXY does much more than mining . Still trying to figure this whole thing out. Thanks. Derek

Q: Hi, What is your current opinion on EQB ? Stock had a strong run, but if I remember correctly, their most recent results were not and encouraging and stock took a hit. Do you think, the issues with the last quarter were only temporary and EQB is buyable today for a new position at current levels ? EQB was recommended by at least a couple of brokerages, recently ( Including CIBC), as the Best Growth story among Canadian banks. Do you agree ?
