Q: I have been looking at this for quite a while: keeps going down when one would think the opposite? Is there a concern about: oil companies going under & thus defaulting, increasing interest rates in the US - minimal as they may be? Usually bonds and equities act contrary to each. In any case, I was going to buy 3000 shares for my RIF - currently have no bonds and this would be a small position.
Q: Reading a little on Andrew Peller (ADW.a) and I notice their 6 month performance for 2016 exceedingly outperforms the 6 months performance in 2015 (99 cents eps vs 65 cents eps). Is this outperformance a result of a one time item?
I ask because if their back half of 2016 can approach their first 6 month numbers, the stock looks very attractive, in my opinion, especially if they can take their 2016 earnings and continue to grow from there.
Thanks.
John

Q: Can you comment on their results. Are the results weaker than forecast.
Q: Hello Peter, regarding model portfolio. 1. If starting new portfolio would you recommend buying in equal weights 5% each or as per weights / allocation currently.
2. If already has the portfolio, would you suggest putting new money in most fallen like WCP SJ ESL etc or since you are keeping unusually high cash . Would you suggest staying on sideline for now. Keep up good work. Thanks

thanks

Q: HI Peter and team - I hold some Concordia in a US account and am interested in adding Concordia to my Canadian account. However it has a P/E ratio of about 190. Of how much concern should this be. What would it take to bring this P/E down to a more reasonable level and is Concordia on track for this. Thanks.

Q: Hi Peter, Considering current downturn in biotechs and future overhang of US elections, do you think I would be better off to wait until August/September this year to pick up CXR or NHC? Also I read biotech prices are inversely proportional to interest rates. So do you think it is a good bet to hold CXR at this time when fed is tightening? I have 30% of my portfolio in cash. Should I hold off until August or September(weakest month)to deploy them for a 10 year hold?
Q: Hi, your thoughts on PLI and whether its a good entry point now? Hasn't done well so far this year. Does this company have a good lineup of products and a lot of clients? Thx.
Q: when can we expect the performance numbers for your portfolio's?
it will be interesting to note how your bullish bias for the last 6 months has fared in the results.

Q: Hi Team,
I see the independent review in response to the short report is out. Do you have any concerns especially with the following?
Corporate Processes and Controls
The Committee and its advisors also considered the performance of Intertain's corporate processes and controls and the financial and governance functions and oversight at Intertain. The Committee has made recommendations for changes and improvements in these areas, including to address inadequate documentation, approvals and record keeping in respect of certain payments previously made by Intertain that were recorded and fully expensed by it as transaction expenses in connection with its prior acquisitions.
Thank you, Michael

Q: What is going on at OTC
Q: Good Morning. I believe that some time ago, PHM was going to conduct a share buy back. Do you guys have any idea how that went. They should be able to retire a lot of them pretty cheaply these days.
Thank You
Thank You
Q: I own some Couche-Tarde and 5i has said that it is one of its favourite stocks in the consumer sector. With annual cash flow of a little less than US$1 billion and a market cap of US$24 billion, it is trading at 24 times cash flow. This seems very high and appears to be discounting substantial cash flow growth. They have been able to grow significantly in the past. How convinced are you that Couche-tarde can grow cash flow in the future to justify its multipl? Will 5i be writing a report on ATD.b in the future?
Thanks, Gtreat service.

Q: In your reply to Bod today re the recent weakness of MG,you indicated hat it maybe due to concern in Europe on banks & economy.Does that apply to Atd.b as it recently made a acquisition in Ireland.Appreciate your usual great views & services.
Q: Like CSU lately, this stock is getting knocked down quite a bit this week. Don't see anything negative in the news. What do you feel is going on here?
Q: Hi Team,
In an answer to a question from Paul J. about when to sell Magna you said the balanced portfolio is "a little more focused on one-year performance."
Much of you Q&A commentary is about long-term investing and performance.
It would be easy for members reading the Q&A regularly to get the impression the balanced portfolio should be a long-term portfolio - but maybe it is not.
Do you think it would help if you clarified for each model portfolio what the intended investment time horizon is and include that information with your explanatory/cautionary statements about each one?
Otherwise things are a bit confusing.
If in fact the balanced model portfolio is not for long-term investors, do you have any plans to introduce a portfolio that is?
Many thanks for the great service and for taking my question.

Q: I have a few questions around the model portfolio:
Around what amounts in $ terms do you assume an investor has to replicate a model portfolio.
Also can we pick a few from a model portfolio and not follow it a 100%

Q: Hi,
I have recently thrown in the towel on Goldcorp, and need to replace for gold exposure. I read this morning you have done the same and replaced with AEM. Can you offer some guidance as to why you selected AEM please. Dejardins recently downgraded to a hold with a target lower than yesterday's close, not that I put a lot of stalk in these reviews. Would you get into AEM here? Thanks!
Eric

Q: Capitulating :( (me) .... so expect the market to turn up very soon!
Nonetheless, I am now firmly in the "income camp" and have reviewed the 5i Income portfolio where I already hold all but ADW and IGM of your stocks but none of the ETFS (VCH, XHY, CVD,CPD, ZRE). With the exception of VCH they have all taken it on the chin in the last year - like so much else.
I am building a "sleep at night portfolio" and have set aside an appropriate cash reserve portion. The rest will stay in the market. With "sleep" well and make a few bucks top of mind, would you recommend any of the 4 ETF's or something else like ZWB, ZDV? Thanks for help with this project.
