Q: Hi team, I am looking to start a position in SYZ, I have pretty well every position in the growth portfolio. I'm thinking 3% full position in one purchase . Is it a good idea?
I am thinking about the same with ESL, and have noticed the share price is lower now than a year ago. Is a full position same as above be acceptable?

Q: Being an income investor looking at the growth portfolio to add some growth ZCL stands out with the 3% yield. TD, Scotia or RBC dont cover it.2 have it in containers and packaging the other in oil/gas services. Have a few questions:
What is the expected growth?
Would it not apparent itself to PUR although not the same?
What is your view/rationnal for this stock?
Better in taxable account or not?
Love your stock picking started a 1% position in february SIS up by 122% since !

May I have your opinion on selling part if my Amaya (3%) and Boyd (7%) positions to purchase Premium Brands. As I am over in consumer discretionary and hold only a 2% posit in Saputo in basics. This would bring basics up to approx. 5% and discretionary down to approx. 16%. I also hold aw.un, bpf.un cgx dhx.b and gsy. In your opinion is there a better rebalancing option?

Q: Hi, As part of a portfolio cleanup I am considering replacing <1% positions in DSG and ESL, and adding some more cash and add a full position in OTC. Does this make sense? With the new purchase of DELL EMC enterprise..I think OTC has positioned itself for growth. Are the liabilities increasing due to this purchase? How does it plan to fund this purchase? Do you think it would be better idea to wait for the benefits/issues due to this purchase to sink in?

I have some covered calls written on Badger Daylighting, Tourmaline, and Painted Pony that look like will get called away at the end of this week. This will make approximately 10% of the portfolio available. I have essentially replicated the Balanced Equity portfolio otherwise (don't hold Whitecap or Magna, though) and I have approximately 10% of invested assets in short term bonds and approximately 7.5% of invested assets in US stocks (Xylem, Starbucks, and Visa).

My initial plan with the new cash available was to top up a couple Balanced Equity positions (SYZ and SLF, probably) to full positions and then to add a US Stock or two. My first thoughts for US stock were JNJ and GE.

What do you think of this plan and would you suggest any modifications? Should I be adding more to fixed income? I am 34, by the way and feel like I have risk tolerances that matches the BE portfolio quite well in general.

Q: I'm looking for some ag exposure, could you tell me your thoughts on AGU, thoughts on merger, valuation and is today a good entry point.

Q: I modeled my income fund portfolio on the 5IR portfolio. One opening is an AGU position. I am hesitating taking a position because of merger with Potash. Question...what is the down$ide risk of getting into AGU now, in particular to market share price, aka the book value, or is there a substitute TSX name or ETF?

Q: Given that Telus has been working closely with QHR; I had been wondering even before the Loblaw offer why Telus would not just buy QHR. Is Telus an aquisitive sort of company? What are the odds on a last minute offer from Telus? Is QHR worth more than $3.10/share?

Q: SYZ and TNC both started to rollover weeks before this downturn. Now they are down considerably along with NYX and IRD. From reading all of the questions and answers pretty well everyday I have never heard anything negative about any of these, so do you think they are all good companies that will have good upside potential. Is there any preference for growth over the next six months? Thanks for your good service. Dennis

Q: What does it mean when a company like BCE files for debt shelf of up to $4 bln. Does it affect in negative or positive way price of company stock on the market.

Is it OK to by BCE now or is better to wait for market response to this
news about BCE.

Q: Hi it seems IT will most likely list on LSE and Canadians can hold in a vehicle that will still trade on TSX .(I have no access to LSE) Will the share price on the Canadian listing automatically correlate to the LSE listing

Q: I bought AGU for the decent yield in my income portion of my portfolio. Now with the planned merger I am concerned that the new company may have a lower yield and likely be more volatile due to higher potash exposure. If the deal goes through would you be keeping the new shares in the income portfolio?
