Q: My partner has $25k to invest in a new TFSA. Was thinking that 5 stocks of $5k each might be a good initial starting point. Do you agree? And could you make suggestions of stocks to add based on a moderately to aggressive approach. Her other investments inside a RRSP are primarily mutual funds or ETF based. Thanks!

Q: Another 2 headlines in the Vancouver Sun today.1)B.C.Casinos knowingly accepted banned cash:confidential report.In 2015 River Rock Casino accepted $5.37m(79%)of $6.7m from illegitimate lenders.2)"Nearly all" gamblers with $20s left with other bills(reining)."River Rock does have criteria in place to help prevent refining for the purposes of money laundering,but---the notion that nearly all gamblers were paid out with $100 bills,regardless of the denomination that they brought in with,in part suggests that the controls in place to prevent a patron from refining may not be functioning as intended."These reflect poorly on River Rock & may result in adverse impact.Buy,sell or hold.Thanks

Q: My first tender offer! TRC Capital Corporation wishes to purchase 3,000,000 shares of OTEX at a share price of $38.50 which represents a discount of slightly less than 5% over the current price. My preliminary research suggests TRC is known to have made a number of these discounted offers. You comment please. Thanks!

Q: I'm looking for growth stocks from the Growth Portfolio that have been beaten up and are potentially poised to rebound soon and have the highest possible up side for my TFSA.

I your view currently , with the exception of ITC which I just purchased. Which other one or two would you consider right now.

Q: 5i Team,

I notice that you have IWO tagged as a financial stock in the growth portfolio, however, when I check the sector break down for it (here: https://www.ishares.com/us/products/239709/ishares-russell-2000-growth-etf), financials are only stated as 6%. The 4 major sectors (Info tech, Health Care, Industrials & Consumer Discretionary) make up 80% of the ETF.

Any specific reason for that classification in the growth portfolio? Should I be tagging IWO as a financial in my portfolio? Thanks.

Q: I'm guessing 5i has a substantial number of clients now and I am wondering if that is a factor in issuing a sell recommendation on a stock when a major event happens? For example, would Peter have " done nothing " as a portfolio manager when SHOP was attacked as was instructed to 5i member's? In no way is the a question on integrity or a lack of respect, I'm a 5i member for life!

Q: Seems to me management has not done a very good job in providing shareholders with any comfort during the short attack. The only mention from media I've witnessed has been a name calling tweet and "wait till later" for explanation, have I missed anything? Even with the decline I'm still a very happy shareholder, buying more on the way up, letting run to a 9% position and thankfully selling down to a less than full position. Much credit goes to 5i for teaching me these skills, thank you!

Q: In general over the last little while when asked about favorite stocks in your portfolio you include SIS, TOY, PBH, CSU and GUD. I fortunately own all of them and have profited handsomely. Thank you very much! If you had to currently add a stock from each TSX sector which stocks would you pick? One caveat, please do not pick any of the 5 listed above! Thank you
