Q: a sunlife life insurance policy was purchased for grandchildren as an investment for them on the advice of a financial planner- I am embarrassed to say so far $9000 in annual premiums has been paid, with 11 more remaining before the policy is paid in full. If I cancel this policy it will be a loss. However; the dollars which would have gone to sunlife could be used for a better investment. Your suggestions would be welcomed. Q: Hello Peter,
Other than Jason Donville's negative comments on Propel, could the insider selling be another reason for downward movement of the stock. I do find it surprising that insiders sold quite a bit, at much lower than the peak price. Could this be due to the stock options being vested on that particular date? I would appreciate your comments and thanks for prior responses. Here is the site i am referring to

Q: what did you make of bns quarterlies? This stock has been a laggard for over 10 years and dividend increase yearly does not even keep up with inflation. They usually increase dividend this quarter [albeit very small] but this quarter have kept dividend the same . I realize they pay a 6.5% dividend but as a shareholder you would like to
see a rising dividend yearly especially if price has done nothing for years. What do you
think as a dividend investor.

Q: It seems that the telco sector will faced with challenges for the foreseeable future with price pressures on fees (I see it on my own bills) and likely not being able to recover for quite sometime. It was easier to sell the position on the non registered account and take advantage of the tax loss. I have kept my positions in the registered accounts for the dividend but am now wondering if perhaps a sell would be make sense and what to replace them with. Any ideas with some dividend and a little bit of growth?

Q: I did really well buying oil stocks when oil tanked 4 years ago, and holding during the recovery. What beaten up sector do you feel has great recovery potential like this currently?
