Q: Sell Alaris Royalty after 20% drop??
Q: Hi Peter,
Do you see Kinaxis as a company that will benefit from the coronavirus outbreak? I would expect manufacturers to heavily invest in their supply chain system after seeing the disruption that the virus has caused. Thoughts?
Thanks so much,
Tait

Q: I noticed a number of questions recently concerning STC and I thought your members may be interested in the response I received when I asked my Hedge Fund (who follow the stock closely and are bullish) about the recent results:
We thought the STC quarter was strong. Gross profits were up 20% YoY and cash earnings were up 89% YoY. They lowered revenue guidance but increased EBITDA guidance.
Recurring revenue (service business) as a % of revenue
20% in 2018
30+% in 2019
40-50% in 2020
*Margins have followed suite
The conference call was very informative and the focus continues to be growing recurring revenues and profits
Feel free to publish this if you think it is of value.
Cheers
Scott

Q: Hello 5i
I've never participated in a Dutch Auction before. Is it likely if I submitted my shares at say $42 they would be purchased? If so, in this market, there is a good chance I can buy them back for less than $42 on one of the many market dips we are seeing. I might be able to gain 5+% in the process. Your thoughts would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Dave

Q: I initially bought Sangoma @ $1.37 and it very quickly climbed to well over a dollar. However today, there still is an ongoing decline. Mystified and can't locate any info why/what is going non with this stock. Appreciate your review......
Q: Are Sangoma and Questor still two of your favourite small caps and would current price be a decent entry level?
Q: Alaris announced today the sale of Sandbox Acquisitions and Sandbox Advertising to a third party buyer at a material reduction to their initial offer. Why did the purchaser materially reduce their initial offer and why would Alaris have accepted it? Is this a good move overall by Alaris to have disposed of these companies? Thanks Gordon
Q: Could you please give me your views on the implications of the sale of Sand Box . Thanks...Steve

Q: In Nov 2016 you dropped QST from coverage for being too small and volatile. Lately though, it seems to have risen in your estimation albeit on the higher end of risk. Just wondering what factors you consider to have changed?

Q: Hello 5i team,
I've held a good number of stocks you hold in your BE portfolio and I've managed to obtain a 14% compound annual total return in the last 11 years.
100% of my portfolio is in equities; I'll be shortly 77 years old and plan to reduce my equity exposure to 30%, with the above stocks in mind.
Your opinion is most valuable
Antoine

Q: Two questions: i) You have previously voiced concerns with respect to NFI production control issues and ii) there appear to have been several additional contract awards to NFI in recent weeks. Do you consider the production issues have now been addressed and no longer a concern and, do the additional/cumulative contract awards represent a significant improvement in this company's outlook and is this a decisive move by purchasers of mass transit vehicles? I appreciate there is unlikely to be a short term profit bump but if there has been a productive move or change in purchasing trends do you expect the benefits will mostly accrue to this company and in the longer term. Thank you for your response.
Q: I had hoped that GUD would have held up better in the face of the current sell-off, but so be it. Are we reaching attractive levels to add to positions in your opinion?
Thanks

Q: Do these companies do the same thing? They look similar to me and both look crazy expensive. SHOP last 4 Q has made a tiny bit of profit while the other has lost money every Q.There a lot of tech companies selling at crazy multiples to EPS. I am hoping this COVID-19 scare will knock them down a lot; none the less, wondering about your take is on my commentary. Finding it hard to invest in this group.
Q: please comment on the STC-T earnings on Feb 27,2020?
Q: What is the take on earnings and the outlook going forward??
Thank you

Q: Can you please comment on the 25 percent drop of GSY in two weeks, being down every day. Your last answer was profit taking, just wondering if this is still the case or is there issues with the company. The chart does not look good. Would you hold or move on.
