Q: Hi - PKI dropped over 2.5% today (6/14) and nearly over 4% combined with its correction on 6/11. Is this a normal aberration in its share price given it paid out its dividend for for June earlier today? The company supports a 5% DRIP so wondering if the near-term weakness exhibited is associated with its monthly dividend? Thank you.
Q: Any reason for the recent surge in price?

Q: I'm confused. EGLX already trades on the TSX and NASDAQ. I see there is an IPO. I thought an IPO was to become public on an exchange, but they are already there. Can you clear the fog? and would you consider this (whatever this is) as a good move?
Q: Prior to the spinoff of TOI Constellation had a market cap of $37B, roughly where it sits today. With all its distributed and undistributed shares TOI seems to be a $10B market cap leading me to think this maneuver was a huge win for everyone involved - shareholders of CSU before the spinoff, like me who got a free dividend, CSU itself which created a valuable separate asset and the other group of present TOI shareholders other than the public group. Or are there factors to this I'm not considering and who exactly are the group of minority shareholders holding TOI shares who are not in the public float and what do we know about them?
Q: TOI: I've been trying to buy for several days by putting a bid in; however, the info I get is not real time - so, I keep missing and to-day up a lot. Any suggestions? I want 1000 shares . How committed to this story is 5i going forward?
Q: Photon Control Notice of Meeting and Management Information Circular was received the other day. Proxy due date is June 25, 2021. Reading the Information Circular, Mawer Investment Management owns 10.5% of the 105M shares outstanding and Photon’s Board of Directors owns 9.4% of the shares outstanding. As you wrote in one of your answers, there are not many large shareholders to fight for a higher bid. From your stock market experience, would the possibility of a higher bid from another company occur before June 25 or after the proxy vote?
Q: Hi Peter, This seems weird to me.
Savaria declared a monthly dividend of 4 cents on May 21, payable on Jun 10th.
Scotiabank did a cash settlement amount of $314.25 on 2500 shares.
Did SIS declare a special dividend?? Or is this a mistake by either Scotiabank or Savaria because my usual monthly dividend is $100.

Q: Hi,
According to estimates, E Commerce is set to grow rapidly over the coming years. Stocks like Shopify & Amazon are the one’s that come to mind. Is Lightspeed in or will be in that same category of E commerce?
Thanks

Q: Hi, Recent chatter on 5i suggests Topicus shares as Bargain at $44 and Very Attractive at $25 (Based on present Sales), while it is currently trading at $78 after touching a High of $94. So two Questions:
1. Is the stock Expensive at current valuation ($78-$80) or a Good Buy ?
2. If we need to revisit Constellation Software, let's say 10 yrs ago, when stock traded in $80-$90 range, did CSU stock look Expensive or different from TOI's valuation Today ?
I am trying to visualize TOI from the same lens as CSU ( and its history) and make a reasonable assumption and investment decision, although CSU performance may not necessarily be replicated.
Thank You

Q: Hello, I hold 450 shares of BAM.A in my non registered account. If I understand correctly, on June 28th I will receive 3 shares of the new Brookfield Reinsurance company plus some cash for the fractional share. For tax purposes, will this be entirely considered as dividend (the 3 shares + cash amount)? Thank you
Q: Hi,
I have a small position in EGLX was looking for an entry to add to my existing position. Would you consider today’s drawdown a decent time to add to that position?
Thanks.

Q: Hi Team,
I have noticed ATZ has been recommended quite a bit recently by 5i as a favorite. I didn't see a report on it yet when I looked, so I was wondering if you could elaborate a bit as to why this stock looks good right now (business prospects, growth, re-opening play?, valuation, etc), and if it would be one of your top picks in the canadian market to buy right now? Or if there is another compnay you prefer better in the consumer discretionary space within canada? Thanks
Shane

Q: Can you comment on EGLX marketed public offering. Why would they choose this method of raising cash and at what price do you think they will sell the shares at? How is their financial position? Are they burning a lot of cash? Thanks
Q: Hi,
I own DND and its trading at around $48,69. The offer to go private is at $50,50. Here is my thinking, Why would I sell at the current price if the worst case scenario is the buyout at $50.50? The other option is that there can be a higher bid, or this whole thing of going private just falls apart, which might stall the share price, temporarily. Not to confuse myself nor you, I am thinking if the best case scenario is just to hold my shares because if they were not intending to go private, I would have had a 5+ year time horizon anyway. Would you agree with my thought process?

Q: I have some cash to invest in my TFSA. Have held PKI.CA for 3 years. Collected dividends and now breaking even on share price. I am thinking of cashing out and buying ATZ as a faster recovery play. What do you think of this switch? What is a good entry point for ATZ since it jumped yesterday and today?
Thanks for all of your wise guidance over the years.
Donna
