Q: I would like to set up a concentrated balanced portfolio of 6 Canadian value and 6 growth companies. I'm looking for the very best companies Canada has to offer, currently. I realize you have a balanced portfolio but I'm looking for the companies that are poised to do the best in the current ecomonic environment. As always, thanks for your much appreciated advice.

Q: Hi team,
In march, I asked if ATD was priced for perfection. ATD then reached a high around $85.
I wonder now about my DOL shares. I wanted to sell in the last months, but did not, because the stock keeps going up. With a PE of 37, and a high around $137, I fear that any problem with China would affect their supply. Do you know if DOL go thru third party’s warehouses or have their own China contacts? Do you have any data on the percentage of their business from Chinese items- should be quite high?
Covid did not stop them, so should we be worried?
Thanks

Q: Do you think Nutrien's management has lost its way? It seems to be groping around for a strategy in South America, and is having a lot of top management turnover. Molson got badly burned in Brazil years ago because they didn't understand the Brazilian market; is the same thing happening to NTR?

Q: This is a follow up of the questions I asked about the Conservative ETFMU Portfolio.
Could you also provide me with the total average yield and the YTD Total Return for the Balanced and Growth Portfolios

Suggestions to improve current ETFMU Portfolio data presentation :
It would be very helpful if each of your ETF portfolio reports would always show the Total Average Yield for each of the 3 ETFMU portfolios. Also, it would be useful to have each Portfolios YTD Total Return % reported, not just the Vanguard Benchmark.
Including some data on actual historical performance results for each portfolio as well as an indication of turnover of holdings would also be useful.

Q: So KXS dropped $22, over 14%, and 5i has answered a few questions with general replies. Can you please use your expertise and provide an assessment of what you think the stock will do going forward? In your view, was the CEO pushed out? Was the sales person pushed out? What change in direction do you forsee? It's in the growth portfolio. Does it warrant still being there? It's been an under-achiever for some time and 5i says it needs to deploy some of its cash and expand. How long do you wait for this to happen?

Q: Hello,

I am considering investing in PBH as it checks off the right boxes and it is one of your favorites.
However, looking at other similar co's MTY & MFI they seem to offer similar dividends and growth, tgey are both also trading close to the same lower range as PBH.
Could you provide insight on why these are lagging the food retailers who are trading at highs.
Thank you

Q: Looking to setup a very concentrated TFSA to drive long term capital gains. Currently holding the above names. TSU has not been nearly as exciting as the other names. Is TSU going to provide outsized capital gains? My thinking is to sell TSU and allocate the funds to the other names equally. If there are others names you would recommend pls do share.

Q: Hi,
I own TT, PWR, HEI and TT. Looking to add to this industrial theme, if you think that's a good idea? I need a stock that's in a reliable sector without gut wrenching volatility. What do you advise? Are there CDN stocks you'd recommend?

Q: This question is about small TFSA with 98% Canadian equities with 32.06% total weight in the technical sector. Weight for LMN, SHOP and DSG are close to 5i Bal portfolio but CSU is at 14.8% (Thank you). All these names are at profit.

Question 1 -I am contemplating selling CSU to reduce Canadian exposure and buying MSFT or NVDA What is your opinion of such a move? Any other suggestions in technical space?

Question 2 - This TFSA has no exposure in Consumer Staples. Would you suggest buying COST instead of US technical name? Any other suggestions and entry price?

Much Thanks for your very valuable comments.

Q: On the last quarter conference call there was a review of the earnings and potential growth in earnings per share in the future. With the organic growth and potential margin improvement from cost cutting, earnout payments dropping in future years, spin out of Provider Solutions and the potential monetization of Circle/Wisp (assuming the money spent on debt reduction and share buybacks). I expect that the earnings should improve significantly in the next two or three years. All of this ignores any acquisitions. If all this happens I figure all is needed is some patience and we should see higher stock price 3 years out perhaps significantly agree?
