Q: Hello team,

Ross Healy was on BNN and suggested that BAM is valued at the absolute top end of it’s range “the stock is at 2x book value which is at a high over the last 15 years”. Not done he then added “the 2022 earnings have gone right into the ditch and our FMV has cratered with it, it’s no wonder shares are softening.”

I follow Brookfield as closely as anyone and earnings going in a ditch? I see a beat on DE, FFO, increased flows from private funds. I see increased tailwinds from the spin off to the transition fund to the increased fee bearing capital and continued capital deployment. Also, I see the CURRENT NAV at $68 a share so a ~13% discount.

Needless to say I am on the polar opposite side of his commentary.

What am I missing hear and can you please elaborate on his argument.

Thank you.

Q: The following was in the Globe today and I quote: "Canaccord Genuity’s Doug Taylor lowered his Well Health Technologies Corp. to $10 from $12 with a “buy” rating, while PI Financial’s Kris Thompson cut his target to $9 from $10.50 with a “buy” rating. The AVERAGE is $10.12."

And yet is sits at $5.10. After a good, solid quarter. I just shake my head and wonder what I am missing?

If it wasn't for 5i I would have all my money in a sock hidden under the mattress.

Q: Topicus has a press release revealing they are going to buy a tech firm that creates vertical market software for numerous markets in Poland. I’ve converted the $ to USD because I don’t understand the currency:

Offer price: $61 million
Annual revenue: $38 million
P/S multiple: 1.6X
Free cash flow per annum: $5.5 million

1) What do you think of the deal?
2) Did Constellation Software ever buy a public company? If so, when and what was the name or names?

Thanks for the great service.

Q: My original 5% position @ $8.18 p/p is now reduced to 3%.Your initial recommendation is $2.83 with current rating of B+.The famous billionarie,Mr Kai Sing Li is part owner. Despite so many acquistions the stock has steadily declined from a 1yr H of $8.86 in July,2021 to recent low of $3.76 in mid Jan & appears to have found a base of some $4.Good Q on Mar 31 resulted in rise of.29(after high of + .56)& dropped 0.20 to $5.01 the next trading day.Very disappointed with the performance..Your thoughts. Txs for u usual great services & views

Q: We'd all love to get a look at a few stock prices from 5 years in the future. Get a big winner, or avoid a big loser, with no risk. If you could get a list of the prices of 10 Canadian stocks 5 years from now, which ones would you pick? Let's say stocks with a min market cap of roughly $1 billion Cdn.

Q: Hi 5i,
I read your market update with interest. You guys tend to be adders and trimmers as I am. You made a lot of incremental adds to various positions. I was surprised by the complete exit from OTEX at 4%. I believe you said on a number of times that one should not sell a good company unless there has been a fundamental change in the company, management or outlook. I do not see any fundamental change with OTEX. You said the stock has been a laggard. One always has some laggards in a portfolio. A steady eddy name can actually help you in these markets. Removing a 4% position seems out of sync with your style.
Thanks again.

P.S. Peter, great session with TD yesterday, even though I am not really a small cap guy.
