Q: Hello Peter,
What are you thoughts on Alamos Gold's results and it is still a buy? What is your view on JP morgan for long term hold given the surge in price recently due to the election results or am i better of with the ETF , XLF? Thanks very much

Q: How will Trump’s tariff policy impact Canadian companies operating in the United States? Taking ATZ as an example, will the tariffs raise Aritzia's costs, making their clothing less competitive in the U.S. and potentially slowing their expansion there? Additionally, which Canadian companies with U.S. operations are most likely to feel the effects of these tariffs?

Q: Hello team,

I'm considering selling Apple at a large profit and deploying elsewhere.
I want to offset some gains with some losses.
Losers in order are:
DRX
SGY
BCE (small amount held in my non-reg)
Selling all is fine with me so I can balance out my Apple gains. What do you think about selling these names and what are a couple of your favourite US and CAD stock for new money?

Q: Hi. My wife and I are in the process of rebalancing our portfolio. We're in our 70s and our portfolio has treated us well. Unfortunately our winners have grown to create a portfolio that is now 70% tech and 30% cash.

We'd like to bring our Nvidia and Apple holdings from just over 20% for each to around 10 or 12%.

Where would you reinvest the proceeds of the sale outside of the tech sector?
What 5 top US companies and 5 Canadian companies would be your favourites and why?

Thanks
Frank

Q: My overall Industrial weighting is fairly bang on with SIS, TFI, WSP, and a US industrial ETF.

I have been looking at TVK. Would it make sense to trim WSP at 4.59% of total portfolio down and add TVK?

WSP has been a great and I assume safer, but I can see trimming it down to 3% and adding TVK?

Thanks again.

Q: Lots of volatility based on the election results. This may be too early to ask, but are there any stocks that have risen (or fallen) too much on fundamentals as a result of the election? Looking for potential sell (or buy) opportunities if you think appropriate.

Q: In response to Alex's question on Nov. 6, 5i responded in part "(the) confluence from today's US sector performances (financials up 4.6%, industrials up 2.8%, energy and communications up 2.1%, and tech up 1.8%), we feel that the financials and industrials sectors are other areas that can benefit." Would you please advise me where to find this data, and if possible for Canadian market sectors as well. BNN used to supply this data for the latter but no longer. Your service is sincerely appreciated.

Q: Hello 5i
I just noticed that in answer to a question you have put adt.ca ahead of premium brands in its category as a favourite pick. I have been worried that adt direction may be looking for a big way to make their mark in their acquisition. I have wondered whether that would bring them to abandon their usual caution. I hold pbh at now, a quite small capital gain and have been thinking about selling it. Just wondering what makes you so confident about this deal. And also, whether it is good enough to make the switch?
Thanks for this great service
