Q: CAE has been another good news story for me this week. Finally they put together a decent quarter, at least in my eyes, what do you think about their qurarter? I know one quarter does not make a trend but I would hate to get out of something after a good gain. Now it is nearly at $31. Is this fair value for CAE for the near to mid term. At this price there should be no tax loss selling on CAE this year, right? My discipline tells me to sell but does your expert opinion shout, "gain for the long haul"?

Q: It seems the economies of Canada and the United States are diverging and not for the better in Canada. This makes it difficult for me to buy Canadian companies as opposed to American. My question is, have any Canadian companies foreseen an advantage to shifting a good part of their operations to the United States to take advantage of the possibilities for making better profits?

Q: I sold LMN on recent earnings/comments and the bump up in price. I was thinking of replacing it with TRI as a steady growth stock. What do you think? Any other ideas already own KXS, DSG, GOOG, AMZ, CSU, TOI. Also surprised TRI is classed in industrials. T Steve

Q: Hi 5i
With reference to member S's questions on Nov 05....What is AC's current valuation?
Given 5i often talks about momentum in the market do you think AC can maintain current momentum?

Would 5I be more inclined to sell into the momentum..... and if you were hanging in what SP would you re-access that decision?
Is there some influence from US airlines potential bankruptcy, eg spirit airlines?

Not trying to pick top but looking to understand better the current push in share price.

thx

Q: Recently I asked a question about premium brands. When I thought my question wasn't answered I re-asked the question. However I was too fast and you did answer my original question. So I apologize for being too hasty. My next question relates to the app. I have a new tablet and am having no luck in finding the app on Google playstore. Any suggestions? I'll wait patiently for your answer.

Q: Just to build on the question from Allan today (Nov. 8th) and your answer, can you re-visit your most recent report on SJ and make some comments on what what might change if you were updating that report today? I consider your reports a fundamental and valuable component of your service, and when I re-read your report with the information that we now have there are few things that don’t seem to track. Based on the ratings criteria is this now a B+ (or even B) company? I know “post-mortem” is too dramatic, but maybe a report “de-brief” is in order?

Q: Magna, Parkland, and Premium Brands have seen significant declines, making them look like attractive dividend stocks with yields around 4%. What do you think about buying them for their dividends? Is there a risk that these stocks could fall further? Which one would be the best to buy for its dividend and potential recovery, and which one should I avoid? Please rank them.

Q: I turned 71 this year and I am pulled between GROWTH & DIVIDEND stocks in my RRIF starting in January. Am I wrong in thinking that it does not make a difference, if: (I do have growth stocks in my Cash & TFSA accounts).
My Tech & other Growth stocks appreciate by 6% or more and I withdraw 6 % via my RRIF, or
Withdraw 6% of my Dividend stocks? Compounding does work, as I bought $20K of RBC a few years ago @ $112 & is now @ $172. Tried the same with TD which did not work.
Obviously, the idea is to not deplete my assets by the RRIF withdrawals? Am I right in my thinking?

Thanks!
