Q: Hi, could you please provide some commentary into what to what to look for when it comes to listening to the conference calls when earnings are released. I find them to be quite informative but realize the CEO/CFO want to paint the rosiest picture they can, and the questions analysts pose sometimes seem somewhat on the softball side. Any insight to this would be appreciated. As always, thank you all so much for this.

Q: Hello team,

Between Lumenpulse, Alimentation Couche-Tard, and Exco Technologies which one would you choose for a long term hold (3-5 years) in a TFSA looking for some risk but the highest upside potential?

I cannot decide as I find ATD.B expensive, LMP risky, and XTC not having as much growth.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Q: I was caught badly over extended in the aggressive portion of my portfolio in late 2014 and into this year. I am still, foolishly I think, holding a few of the problem stocks in hopes of them recovering - Rock Energy RE -55%, Questor QST -49%, Canaccord CF -45% and Raging River RRX - 23% but the likelihood of recovery seems to constantly be moving further out. Is there any hope of these recovery near term or is it time to give up on these non-performing assets, take my losses and move on?

Q: Hi Peter & 5i team: After reading many of your answers to members it seems to me more or less the holdings in your model portfolios are for "hold" if no further news from you. Am I right on this? I prefer not to take cap gains and let it grow instead, but when the market comes to a correction my "strength" gradually goes down also and I had times resulted buy high sell low. Or at the end of the year I just rushed to take tax losses. I have a number of holdings from your model portfolios and the rest that your comments to members are positive. Also, my portfolios are well diversified. Any suggestions that I can do better? Or I just sit back and watch out any new comments from you on the 5i site? I am really impressed by your answers to members. Thank you for your wonderful service.

Q: Could you update your opinion on Dundee Corp. Is there a reason for the sell off or are their investments just out of favor? Are the Goodmans building the underlying value of their company?

Q: I'd like to get Peter's opinion on Ray Dalio's all weather portfolio. Has 5i ever thought of releasing a version of this type of portfolio or would you already consider the income portfolio to achieve a similar result?

Thanks!

Q: Correct me if I am wrong. Your research and investment advice has leaned towards mid to small caps and generally a bit safe from the risk reward perspective. By that I mean that there is a far lower probability of making a loss as compared to making above market gains. I have done well with your advice and am wanting to clear room for buying some stocks from your next portfolio coming out end of the month. I am fully invested and therefore will need to raise cash by doing some selling. Although my holding pattern is 3-5 years, I would probably have to exit my oil and gas stocks with significant losses and also trim gains from other holdings. The rationale being, there would be a better opportunity with the newer portfolio recommendations.
I have been reading here that the new portfolio will be more aggressive and I take it, riskier as well. Could you please give me your thesis for constructing such a portfolio at this time? What do you see in the market that prompts you to suggest an aggressive approach? Thanks.

Q: with new housing growth in the U.S. not that great, slow down in Asia. What makes Western Forest Products a preferred choice in the sector. Japan has been devaluing their currency and from what I understand wef is facing competition from other countries like Russia. With a bunch of negatives out there it may be a good time for a contrarian to buy the stock. Can you throw a bone that would likely be cause the fundamentals for the company to improve, other than the fact that it is cheap.

Q: I am considering Tma or Tfi in the transportation sector. Which do you favour at current prices for income and growth, or would you have another choice. I have no stocks in this category at present. Thank you, Barrie

Q: Yes James, like Noel said, I 2 find it difficult to get it right in stepping in. Blast, eh! 5iR suggested technical analysis. On that score I like Alexander Elder, like come into my trading room. I promise myself 'follow it'. But I become impatient aha ahaha...

Q: I'm a bit worried about my WCP and CEU holdings which I hold for income and income growth. In light of ever increasing oil inventories and oil service stocks hurting big time I don't see much hope for these companies this year. I'm thinking about selling these two for other income stocks I feel are a bit more stable such as Exchange Income (EIF) & Veresen (VSN). How do you feel about these moves and could you possibly suggest other suitable income replacements.

Q: Do you have plans to do a report on this company anytime soon? At this point, could you "eyeball" a grade to it.... maybe A- ?

Q: In response to James, thanks for the great comment and the humility to post it. I remember reading somewhere that the stock market is designed to make the majority of investors look foolish. With my increased wisdom and trading skills it now takes up to a week before the stocks I buy diminish in value.
