Q: Hello Peter and team, I have some money available to invest for a longish term (5 years+). Can you suggest around four names to add to a diversified portfolio, in particular companies that you think may currently be at unduly low prices due to tax loss selling and other year-end positionings. Stantec and Surge come to my mind. Would you agree, and if so can you please also suggest two or three others (though no more in the Oils; I'm already quite full there). Also, I've separately wondered about acquiring a foreign stock like Nestle. Do you know if/how I can acquire that in my self-directed RRSP? Thanks in advance!
Q: Hi 5i Team, Peter's erstwhile colleague, Peter Imhof, recommended Diversified Royalty (DIV at Toronto) at BNN. Your most recent (October) comment on the stock was "wait and see". Any further thoughts on the subject? Thanks as always. Henry
Q: May I have your fresh look at MTL.

Q: Is there any reason you know of that agt is getting hit so hard today. Thanks.
Q: I already own ADW.A but with the recent decrease in the price of the B shares I am considering adding a purchase of the B shares. I would appreciate your opinion.
Q: hello 5i:
the Glentel sale is interesting, and good for those who hold shares. What effect, positive or negative, would the acquisition have on BCE shares (I hold BCE and have for many years). Is this an astute acquisition? Did BCE overpay?
thanks

Q: Over the past months, I thought I'd give your plan a whirl of buying strength and forego using Stops with names you really liked in your Questions/Answers section. **HUGE** mistake! My portfolio is down 25%. Hindsight demonstrates the only way to stay out of trouble with your service, was to invest in your ENTIRE portfolio and completely ignore your Q&A on any companies outside your model portfolio. Cherry picking names from your Q&A section has proved very painful indeed. Expensive lesson learned!
Q: Hello.
If CNR's Petroleum revenue went to 0 (lower oil production creating capacity in existing pipelines), what do you think CNR's price would settle at?
CNRs Q3 report (Investor-Financial-Quarterly-2014/Q3/Q3-2014-US-GAAP-MDA-en.pdf), puts Petroleum and chemicals at about 20% of the Q3 earnings.
Thanks.

Q: I would appreciate an explanation on the difference between CTC and CTC.A. Both tickers are for Canadian Tire Corp. Ltd. In addition to your valued investment insights, thanks for all the education you offer.
Q: If I sell Macro what do I replace it with. A different sector is OK
Q: Hi there
I own Onex through the common stock (OCX) and their Onex Credit Partners (OCS.UN) which I have been treating more or less like a debenture/bond issue. I was attracted to the high yield and the backing of Onex on Onex Credit Partners. I am up considerably on the Onex equity over the years, but lately Onex Credit Partners has been falling quite a bit - down to $8.48 from $9.50 in August. I am curious why this might be occurring in a stable interest rate environment and with Onex doing very well.
Love your service.

Q: Thanks to 5i for the amazing help you provide to your members.
This question is similar to John's, what do you think of Delta Airline since the low oil prices will impact positively its bottom line. Which do you prefer WJA or DAL ?

Q: Peter & Crew I'd like your advice on wja, trz.b, considering lower cost fuel costs. Thanks
Q: Why is this stock breaking out to a new high on big volume? Is it still a good buy? Thank you.
Q: Which would you choose for a three year hold at this time for growth: Enghouse or Open Text? Thanks!
Q: The globe and mail lists a p/e on loblaw of over 2,000?.. Is is that overvalued? It is one of a few of my winners in my portfolio. Is it time to trim? I like the shoppers acquisition and the expansion of joe fresh but I have watched all my profits in other stocks disappear and wonder if the same will happen to loblaw with that kind of p/e.
Q: In light of the recent run ups in these stocks- GIB.A CXR OTC ESL-- are they OK to buy now, or wait for a pullback?
Q: Hi, I am down 16% with Aimia. It is now 2.5% of my portfolio. My average holding is 3.2%. Should I add to my position or do you see more down side? Maybe I should sell it? Jeff
Q: I fortuitously sold Suncor back in June but am now wanting to buy back into oil and gas in my wife's TFSA account. I have badger (bad) and Superior Propane (spb) in another rsp account but this would be more of a direct investment in the beleagured oil and gas industry. I have 10 000 dollars of room to invest with a long term window and was wondering which two of sgy,su,spe,or su you would recommend. Do I go back into the rock solid dependable Suncor or seek more growth with the likes of a Surge or Spartan or ???? Thanks
