I've been thinking of establishing a 1/2 position in this company. I am light in materials/resources. As always, would appreciate your thoughts.

Q: Looked at the proposed split & wouldn't recommend it. To much questionable noise in the background with Mr. Hudson. Be careful.
Q: STB jumped 9.43 per cent today. What do you think of its results? A buy at these levels?
Thank you.

Q: Your thoughts on WFT and its recent quarterly results. Is it time to buy this stock?
Q: I own some preferred shares in EFN, what happens to them should the company split? Many thanks.
Q: I got lucky and called both a (near term) top in CSU and a further drop in AAPL, exiting my positions leaving $75K cash to invest.
My belief is that the next 12-24 months minimum are going to be very tough sledding for both the global economy and especially Canada therefore I'm adopting a defensive position, shying away from highly volatile growth stocks and looking to deploy that money among 5-7 dividend paying GARP stocks.
My question: adding to a well diversified Canadian portfolio, and irrespective of sector, what would be your suggestions that best combined a secure 4+ % dividend with the likelihood of share price increases in the next 1-5 years.
Thank you!

Q: Have 10K to invest on behalf of each of my children. Timeline is 5+ years. Seeking growth. Risk is acceptable. Your guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the excellent and informative service.
Q: The potential bid of $4.25 per share strikes me as an opportunistic attempt to take advantage of shareholders who are generally spooked by the current markets. Anyone who purchased the shares in the past 3 years or so would certainly be under water on the bid. The offer would represent only a small premium to the price the shares were trading at just a few days ago. Also the company is projected to continue growing, perhaps at a single digit rate, and pays a good dividend. Holding the shares for the next 12-15 months would more than compensate shareholders for the small premium. So why would shareholders tender shares to, what I consider, such a low offer if such an offer is eventually made. Your comments please.
