Q: Hi. I'm currently over weight in Consumer Defensives (BYD, PBH & PRWM) and under weight in Industrials (WSP, TFII, STN & SIS).
I'm thinking of selling PRMW and buying EIF. Based on future prospects do you think this trade makes sense. I intend to hold for a few years. Thanks!

Q: I know it's outside your mandate but do you know of a good analysis software that takes taxes and investment returns with rrsp's ,tfsa's cash accounts and cpp into account . We have been investing on our own for 40 years and just don't want to give an advisor 1 to 2 % of our money. Thanks for any recommendations.

Q: I do not understand why the Canadian dollar has risen relative to the USD$ recently. The price of oil is declining, our government debt is increasing again, productivity is low and business investment in Canada is almost non-existent. Why is the Canadian dollar currently getting stronger?

Do you think it may be prudent to swap out Franco Nevada shares now (considering the growing list of political/legal headwinds) for something else?

Q: Hi 5i,
In an otherwise balanced portfolio, I'm looking for some ideas for my TFSA.
Current holdings are KXS, LULU, HPS AND ATS.

I'm open to adding to the above names but was wondering if you
could you please recommend 10 Canadian and 10 US stocks that you feel would work well in a TFSA at this time in the market.

My RRSP portfolio consists of the above stocks all with relatively the same weighing. Can you suggest 5 names or so, (CDN and U.S) that I take a look at that would complement the above? Q: I would like to keep "high risk stocks" in my non-registered account, aka trading account, rather than in my TFSA or RRSP or LIRA accounts. But I'm wondering what the attributes or metrics or characteristics of "high risk stocks" are in Canada or US. Keen to learn from you what to look for for such stocks....Thanks....Tom

Q: With the new TFSA limit, how would split into 4 purchases with a 20 year hold. Assuming RRSP is diversified and with no other holdings. Does BAM, BN or TOI hit your radar. Also, I am retiring in 20 years. Thanks as always.

Q: Hello, I have some money to deploy and have picked the above lucky 13 stocks. Are you able to put them in order in which you would purchase them (1 to 13). I know there is a wide range of companies, industries and cap size. This would be in a cash account and looking for capital gains over the next 3 years. I'm okay with lots of risk in this account.

Q: Recently a question response included something to the effect that "the Berkshire basket of companies are higher quality than the entire market". I couldn't find the exact answer but I have pondered it a lot!

Would BRK.B be "higher quality" than VFV? I currently hold a decent amount of VFV and a tiny bit of BRK.B. It feels like all "the rules/norms" have been discarded for last several years but for next 5 -10 years which would you favor?

Q: CLS, DCBO and TOY are trading at a 5% discount of the price of the shares over the last 2 days. LMN is trading at a premium share price in the same amount of time. I have all 4 of them. Which one would you add to of the 4. One of those on sale or LMN with a better track record?
