Q: Good Morning
I am planning to add US and International ETF holdings to an otherwise balanced portfolio. No foreign coverage presently. I am in my mid 70's. What % of my total portfolio would you recommend for each.

Thanks Guys

Q: Bruce Campbell recently said that management and the board are large shareholders owning over 40 per cent of NYX. He also commented on forward earnings being below industry peers. Can you provide your independent assessment of NYX as a speculative investment given your familiarity with the gaming sector. Is is "very" interesting or just interesting at these levels? Risks are understood. CP

Q: Hi 5i - I'm looking at buying solid companies for a 10 year hold and look at the recent downturn as a good opportunity. Are there any screaming buys (at current prices) from your portfolios that you would be rushing to buy or add to? Thanks very much!

Q: In volatile times like these, there is always much talk of moving into the non-cyclicals, which to me has always been a bit of a question mark. Other than Food, and Utilities ... what else is non-cyclical, if anything? It seems to me, that everything else is based on "need" versus "desire" -- or a requirement versus a luxury. To me, anything beyond food and shelter is considered a luxury, so how does the market determine this sector? Would you throw out a few names, please, to let me know what is a good "non cyclical", and which might be a good place to hide? (other than grocery stores and obvious utility giants.) Thanks!

Q: There has been a DOW Death Cross recently and today's S&P breakdown. Do you think there is significant downside still and what should we do as small investors? Thanks.

Q: What metrics should one use to evaluate this company? The ones available are confounding: forward PE of 243, -75% ROE yet it trades at an all time high (impressive given current conditions). Revenue and Earnings growth doesnt seem that impressive. Is it good value here and if so based on what measure? Would BAM be a comparable company, which is better value? Finally, would you rank OCX as an A or B company? Thank-you.

Q: Two questions here (to save sending 2 separate items) - and maybe the answers will differ regarding timing new buys in these 2 sectors.

With most bank stocks and even the better rated energy stocks hovering just above or just below 52 week lows, would you be comfortable buying any of the banks or energy stocks right now or have we not seen "the whites of their eyes" yet?

In an earlier question (I believe) you suggested not buying anything for a couple of weeks.

Would the same apply here?

Thanks. (What a great resource to have in trying to figure out how best to invest).

Q: Quite often these days you hear some expert calling for a 10 to 15% correction. What level on the TSX are they using to correct from. January 1, 2015 or the highest level the TSX reached this year or from the level the TSX is at the day the expert financial fortune teller makes the call?

Q: Morning Peter and Team,
Seems AFN has been caught in the current downdraft. (not to mention the western Canadian drought). I purchased the company after your recent report. I'm down 16%. It's dividend is now over 6%. Do you think it's safe. Also, is this the kind of company that can withstand a possible global recession caused by the "China Problem"? What is the downside?

Also, what is your opinion regarding the impact China's economic problems could have on the global economies
As always, thanks for your opinions.

Q: Aug 13 quarter report was anything but positive. After the big drop in share price today do you think its akin to catching a falling knight or worth a small nibble for the risk capital portion of my portfolio? CEO says " We are generating the cash flow that enables the payment of a dividend at the bottom of the cycle. He does not say if that div will be at the current level going forward. Do you see this div as sustainable, because a cut probably would see a further drop in share value. Thank you for you thoughts

Q: The world seems to be shorting Canada. Is it too late to increase US weighting in our portfolios? I currently have 20% in US stocks and 25% in Canadian stocks that get most of their revenue from outside of Canada (ATD.b, MDA, OTC, BAM.a). The remaining 55% is pure Canadian. I would appreciate your comments.

Q: Currently I have the following mix of Brookfield stocks: BAM 2.8%; BIP 3.6% and BEP 4.4%. This means that these Brookfield shares comprise 10.8% of my portfolio. Are these 3 companies diverse enough that I should keep them at these levels? When they are compared on a 3 year chart they appear to be very different.
