Q: Good Morning 5i,
Any thoughts on Premier Wynne's $7B plan to revamp Ontario's fossil fuel use? Is there something I'm missing here with this continued push for electric cars, now encouraging expensive electricity for home heating? Is she aware that over 70% of electricity comes from the burning of fossil fuels, nuclear, natural gas and coal in particular? Natural Gas is a cheap abundant clean burning fuel for home heating. Even all this discussion about electric cars, I think its very unlikely if not impossible to have all our electricity use provided from renewables? Even Lithium for lithium batteries is a fossil fuel that is mined from the earth, I used a friends brand new lithium battery lawnmower on the weekend and after only 10 minutes of cutting the grass the fully charged battery was dead and took over 5 hours to recharge. All this stuff seems absurd, where are the adults in the room lol..Seriously though it is concerning when they are using our tax dollars to pursue this nonsense, climate change has occured for Eons, this is nothing new and to tax your citizens with the belief that you are going to alter Macro climate change is absurd to say the least. Thank-you ( sorry for my morning rant)

Q: There seems to be no limit to the share price decline of BOS. I don't own it but have been watching. Does it now represent both good value and a growth opportunity? I know you don't like buying into negative momentum. For someone with room in their portfolio to add a couple of growth names is BOS a good place to put new money today or would you rather stick with a more positive momentum play like KXS?

Q: Hi Peter and Staff
Was a bit surprised yesterday in your response to Matt about his dad targeting 6% return. You suggested for additional names GSY,HCG and AGT . None of those three generate that in yield so you are obviously expecting capital appreciation. I have seen you recommend GSY and HCG many times and own those but have not seen the same level of referral about AGT from you. I have considered it in the past but was always thinking I had missed the boat. Scotia came out the other day after earnings with basically a hold with no movement in the next twelve months. Since then it has dropped. Globeinvest for what it is worth say current P/E is 51.20 and future is 12.76. Could you please expand on your reasons for optimism and potential for share appreciation.

Q: Hi 5i Team. I was wondering if you could tell me your top three names that you would buy today if entering the market. This is play money in a TFSA, my RRSP follows your Balanced Portfolio so risk and diversification concerns do not need to weigh into your answer. I am a big boy and understand there are no guarantees so do not expect an angry e-mail if these names do not perform. Just wondering what you would do if you were shopping for stocks today.

Q: I would appreciate your advice regarding Brookfield's announcement concerning BBP (Brookfield Business Partners). Bam.a has dropped today seeming on the news. As a shareholder of BAM. A already would this be a good opportunity to buy more? Is the opportunity to then also end up with BBP shares also make this a good buying decision?

Q: In your April 21st response to a question about CJT, you suggested "keeping an eye on it" as you had some concerns if the economy slows. What exactly should one be keeping an eye on in order to determine a total exit. I bought a small position over 6 years ago at a cost of $6.50 so am happy with the current $31+ price along with receiving a regular dividend. It is now 4.2% of my portfolio. Do you feel this is too high a % and if so, what weighting would you suggest and what would you replace it with ?

Q: In light of your updated report on gamehost would a switch make sense to savaria. I usually try to replace a stock at or around the same price my thinking being that if sis has the potential to move up $2.00 faster than gamehost then I do not risk more money on a small cap stock and can recoup my $2.00 loss on gamehost faster with owning savaria.Does this strategy make any sense? I get they are completely different sectors.

Q: I am overloaded in the Consumer Staples Sector. I have MRU, ATD.B, PBH, & BPF.UN. and would like to lighten up by dumping one. Am loathe to dump Boston Pizza because of its 7.44% Y. Would you please list them in terms of growth possibility and which one you think would generate the least returns over say 1 - 3 yrs time frame.

Q: I do not rely on technical indicators in a large way, but I use them to solidify my opinion of a company and to a degree timing a purchase. This would pertain for me mostly to a value or momentum indication within a stock. Is there an article or book that you are aware of that might give me a breakdown of how often an indicator proves to be correct and to what increase or decrease of price deviation might occur after the technical is noted? An example after a stock passes its upward 200 day moving average there is a 60% chance it will continue upwards by 10% within 30 days of that occurrence (Not factual). I do not mind doing the math myself but I respect and consider others opinions and formulas and also they may give me different insight. Any technical that you yourself like or consider?

Q: Hello, I was busy doing some research on some of my holdings, this weekend. It was interesting to find that a number of companies, which have shown huge growth, over a period of, let's say, past 2-5 years, are on the top of the recommended list, today with 5ireasearch and analyst community. If only these stocks could be identified at early stage, when they were undervalued and under the radar, investment returns would have multiplied several times, in today's terms and in future. A number of private equity groups and investment funds ( Mawer, Timbercreek, Pembroke, Pender, Fidelity, CI funds etc)(5iresearch included)initiated positions in some of these companies at the nascent stage and have reaped large returns over time. Some of these stocks which come to my minds are CSU,KXS,SYZ,PBH,NFI,CCL,SJ, BYD.un etc. In your view, are there any such "hidden gems" today which are under followed and appear cheap today but have huge growth potential, over next several years? Of course, there will a degree of risk associated with these names. Thanks for your valued insight.
