Q: due to the complicated change of shares, i now find myself with 500 itx shares and 400 jpj shares. This was not my intention. To have all shares in itx will cost me about $200.00. Is it worth while to leave my shares in jpj that i cant trade? Would this be to my advantage for increased return? Thanks 5I

Q: I own BCE and want to add to this sector. My choices are either Shaw or Telus and would ask what your preference would be and why?

Enghouse Systems Limited (ENGH $20.50)
-
Boyd Group Income Fund (BYD.UN)
-
Shopify Inc. Class A Subordinate Voting Shares (SHOP $233.80)
Q: I have held both Boyd and Enghouse since 2012 and they have both served me well. However of late their share price has stalled and they seem range bound. Would now be a good time to take profits (50%) in both of these companies and use that amount to take an initial position in Shopify?

Q: could you help me understand the Insider Filings on Intertain in the last week. 1.3 million shares disposed of with this explanation "Disposition pursuant to a take-over bid, merger or acquisition" is this insiders switching shares to the new co. or is this actual selling of shares by insiders?
Q: Hi there. I have very little weight in pharma/biotech sector and very little weight in commodities sector including zero weight in gold/silver. I'm overweight in financials and tech stocks and equal weight in industrials. I Have an addt 25k to invest. Looking for high potential growth over the next 12 months. Not concerned about short term volatility. Can you recommend 2 Cdn stocks and 2 U.S. stocks to consider? What sector do you see having the most potential upside in 2017? Thx for opinion.

Spin Master Corp. Subordinate Voting Shares (TOY $20.39)
Q: Hi, I need to pull some money out of my TFSA and would love your thoughts on what to sell. I'm looking at TOY, NFI, and EIF as my "flatliners" (I haven't had them long). Do you have advice about which to drop, or perhaps they'll all shine in the end so I should just trim each one? I will be able to buy back mid-year. Thanks!

Q: Hi Peter and Team,
Thank you for all the great work that you put in. My daughter's RESP is doing quite well thanks to your model portfolios.
Currently in my TFSA, I am holding DSG, FTS, NFI and WPK. I would like to add a fifth stock to my portfolio. The time frame for the TFSA is 10+ years. Any suggestions to increase the diversification?
Thanks in advance.
Marvin

Q: In a large cash acct, I have 1 loser-Surge. Based on existing losses & my opinion that it will take several years to break even, I plan to use the loss against similar gains in one of two existing stocks that have not shown much upward movement over the last year or so. They are BCE & LNR. Obviously, BCE has the much larger dividend but, LNR has likely more upside. Your opinion & rationale is valued. Thank you.
Q: CAD Hedged vs Non-CAD Hedged ETFs. For US exposure ETF's, which is better to buy in my TFSA - hedged or non-hedged....and what simple reasoning can I use to decide?
Q: Hello! Do you think it's better this year to put new money in US or in Canada ?
Thanks for the great service !

Q: Could you please comment on these 2 {FTS & SAP} Companies for a long term hold. I'm looking for income and modest appreciation. Also, do they qualify for the Dividend Tax Credit on a Non-Registered account.
Thanks Valter

Q: Any news on why MT is halted
Q: Hi,
I purchased DIS just over a year ago at $111.58 USD. It closed today at $111.30 USD, showing that I'm down 4.4% in my BMOInvestorline brokerage account.
Math isn't my forte but that unrealized loss doesn't sound accurate to me. Is it somehow a reflection of the currency fluctuations? I don't understand.
Thanks,
Robert

Q: With trump's policies I expect rising inflation. What sectors/investments would do well in rising inflation.
Q: Are there any ETFs that you would recommend that provide for a hedge against a general market downturn for both Canada & the US that can be used as part of a portfolio?
Q: I Saw a podcast from Peter on the website about how to pick a stock a few weeks ago. I did not have a chance to listen to it at the time. Is it still available ? I did not find it on the website. Thank you.
Q: Why are Peter's top picks on BNN not covered by Research Reports on the web site?
-
Colliers International Group Inc. Subordinate Voting Shares (CIGI $201.79)
-
FirstService Corporation (FSV $213.75)
-
Altus Group Limited (AIF $55.54)
Q: I have owned cigi AND FSV through the split. Would you move into aif.No tax worries.
Q: When doing my research, I have a defined method that includes 5I views but also Morningstar (for Quantitative view) Thomson Reuters for fundamental views and forward looking views and if buying USA stocks Bloomberg. Recently my brokerage made S&P research available and I am finding contradictions in how seemingly same facts are both viewed and presented. There are several quantitative S&P views on stocks that give "sell" ratings while the others give positive ratings. I was wondering if you use any of these sites for information an if you have a bias towards one being more accurate then another. Thanks Jim
