Q: With INTL announcing the purchase of this company, MBLY's valuation is quite extended now. Going forward, what is your opinion of how much further MBLY stock price can go? Thanks
Q: In anticipation of Peter's 2017 prediction that "the markets will take a huge dip sometime in 2017" (financial post article dec 29 2016), can I ask for 5 Canadian and 5 American stocks to look for that are fundamentally good, (not in debt, growing earnings and leaders in there industry), sectors are irrelevant.
Can you please indicate your top 4 or 5 value oriented investments for a combination of dividends and capital gains for the long-term (3-5 years or so).
Q: I am a 66 yr. old, dependant on my investment portfolio for almost all my income. I often hold equity positions for much too long and have suffered 60-100% losses in some stocks like Guestlogix, Paladin Energy, Avion/EDV Gold. Currently my largest holdings are: CSU, IPL, PSK, VET, H, TD and HR.UN. I am looking to replace some of the previous with the following names: SLF, MRT>UN, TCL.A, ENF, and FIE or FIE.A
Could you please RATE the positions held vs. the possible relacement positions and please provide colour on 'best' between the FIE's.
Thanks and fell free to consider as many credits as warranted.
Q: My son ( 31, single, no dependents, good salary) has $10,000 cash in his TFSA and $30,000 cash in his RRSP. He would like to begin building a growth portfolio with a 10 to 20+ year time frame. No stocks are owned at this time.
1) Suggestions on where to begin?
2) He plans to add $500 to $1000 monthly to the TFSA for the foreseeable future. Suggestions on how to employ these contributions?
Thank you, Trevor
Q: My percentage market allocation presently in Altus, Kinaxis, and Open Text are 4.41%, 7.38%, and 3.85% respectively. Perhaps I'm top heavy in Tech stocks, though I plan to boost OTEX to a full position down the road. Would it make sense to sell AIF and replace it with either GUD or CRH since I hold no medical stocks at this time? You have helped my analytical skills tremendously, though I'm not good as digesting financial statements.
Q: Hi 5i team, just read your recent report on XTC. How can you explain the higher multiples for XTC versus the three others: growth is currently favored by the market over size, value and more diversification? What would you expect the stabilized P/E to be over the long run for them? Higher and lower for which of these? Thank you, Eric
Q: When to sell. It seems every time I sell something it immediately starts going up. Awhile back I watched Simo fall from $45 to $37 where I sold and the next day it started going up and is still going up to this day. EIF which I watched fall from $45 to $35 and recently sold it at $35 and by the end of the day it started going up and it is still going up to this day. Is this a coincidence - they would turn around and go up as fast as they came down? Right now I have CZO down 40%, ITC down 20% and GSY down 5%. I am skeptical about selling them because it may happen again. Are there any of these three that should be sold? Thank you very much. Dennis
Q: Would you please explain what the following means in plainer English, and in particular what could cause such large and sudden changes in the "fair value of contingent considerations". Do you think the 20+% drop in share price is a realistic reaction to the news? Thank you.
Offsetting higher operating income during the first nine months of Fiscal 2017 were net financing costs which increased to $5.3 million, resulting from changes in the fair value of contingent considerations which amounted to $5.1 million, and on higher amortization from the acquired intangible assets.
If you had to choose one of these companies to add new money to without regard to anything but expected growth over a 3-5 year time frame which would you choose and if you could please provide a brief rationale?
