Q: I have been holding onto POT for several years. I am down about 50%, and this position has turned into a very small holding (about 0.5%), as my portfolio has grown significantly since I took the position many years ago. I was holding it up until now because it paid a decent dividend, and I held out hope that the company would rebound, but now with the dividend cut, the only hope that I have for the stock is that it might improve after the merger with AGU. If I sell, I would likely use it to increase my holdings in CSH.UN and GUD. Should I hold on, or just cut my losses?

Q: I currently hold BPY, but am considering selling it for a small
profit and buying BIP for more growth.
Or would I do better to sell AD at a substantial loss, put the proceeds to work in BIP and hang on to BPY
Your thoughts please.
Thank you very much

Q: Hi,
What debt to equity number do you have for QSR? I see values ranging from 1.4 to 5. The most up to date numbers are closer to 5.
Clearly investors are not terribly concerned. Why is such a high d/e not a problem?
Thanks,
Gord

Q: Hello Peter, I have full positions in FTS, BIP and EMA, and a long-held triple position in BAM. With some new money, I'm tempted by ALA for its good yield and steadiness. Do you think this is too much duplication (considering the fact that I probably already own too many individual stocks, probably 60-70 if I include my RRSP, TFSA and non-registered). Or is the excellent yield enough to justify the addition.
Q: Hi Team
I just read Peter's column in the NP and thanks to 5i have been successful with ZCL.
Without concern for sectors, how would you rank the other four going forward?
Thanks

Q: If you could comment on Reitman's results please, that were released on Wednesday.
Same store sales up near 8%, on-line continues to grow very nicely, slight profit miss due to weak CAD, all seems pretty good, considering that YoY had 90 less retail outlets. Decent divi as well.
Stock is trading down though. Given that this is fairly thinly traded, is it just a few people deciding there are better 'stories' elsewhere, or is there more (meaning less!) to the story than I'm seeing, and it's time to leave as well. Your thoughts are very appreciated. Thanks...,

Q: Good morning 5i team!
I have a joint RESP account for my children who are 11 and 9.
At this time I have approx $85k in the account distributed as follows
$23 bond 2.10% mat June/2018
$22 k in VDY
$32K in VFV
I have a remaining $7k+ and wanting some growth, dividend with stability so I won't lose as it is a more short term time frame.
What do you think of the overall weighing of the portfolio and what would your suggestions stock wise be for the $7K.

Q: Hi Peter,
Could you please comment on Lululemons results released yesterday. The market certainly didn't like the results.
Do you think it is a buy after the big drop?
Thank you, Charlie

Q: More of a comment than a question. They announced on Thursday that they have refinanced their debt with RBC and paying out the Crown capital debt. Aside from the significant interest expense saving, I have found that if a bank like RBC gives a small company the thumbs up then this is almost always a good sign that the business prospects are improving.
Q: Hi Peter, follow up to your last answer on MAL, I know you like to see how companies and management fared during '08 (i.e. EPS). Did MAL do well during those times and what happened? Thx.
Q: Hi Peter and team, do you know when Financial results of Goose will be available? Goose shares are down by more than 3% today, is there any specific reason? Thanks, Gervais

Q: Could you please give me your thoughts on The Horizons Medical Marijuana Life Sciences ETF (TSX: HMMJ). It is an ETF that will be offerred by Horizon this Thursday. It has a fairly high MER of 0.75. Might be a safe way to hold a basket of marijuana stocks. Here is a link to an article about it http://business.financialpost.com/investing/marijuana-etf-the-most-scrutinized-fund-that-weve-ever-launched-horizons-ceo-says
Q: How do Callidus Capital's earnings look?
What do you think of management's comment "Early expressions of interest support initial valuations that would translate into a price received by tendering shareholders that is consistent with the previously disclosed valuation range provided by National Bank Financial ($18 to $22 per share) that accompanied the SIB in April 2016".
I'm thinking about initiating a position but get I also get nervous when management starts throwing out guesses as to what they think their shares are worth.
Thanks.
John
