Q: Hi Peter,
Any idea why Covalon is not trading today based on yahoo and google stock listings? Also, is there a specific reason for Canopy to be surging so high today as I have not seen any new news release to account for such a spike? Thanks and again appreciate the input.

Q: Hello Peter,
Any idea why Andrew Peller has surged in the last month. Everyday it goes up a little amounting to a sizable increase over a month? Also, can you see a case for a company like Andrew Peller to form joint ventures with Cannibis companies to create a wine/cannibis combination? Covalon Technologies has done well this year but I would have thought with their recent numbers, I would have expected the surge in price to continue. Also, when some companies beat the numbers, they barely move while others take off. Is this because the market thinks the former is not a true growth story and with with time if the company continues to do well, the market finally realizes the story . Finally, i just wanted to add that your service in terms of information and timely responses is truly appreciated and sincere wishes for the holiday season. Many many thanks.

Q: Bip.un dropped 2.16 % today ? I’m up 54% on this stock but down 17.84% on HWO. The fundamentals look good for hwo. Should I sell bip.un and average down on HWO, sell both decreasing my tax bill , or keep existing position with the hope that Hwo will recover in the new year.

Q: World economies look good. People have money to gamble with. What gambling companies look the best in Canada . Chinese are biggest gamblers in the world with Aussies number 2. What companies benefit with this growth in China. I assume USA companies benefit the most. Also what do you think about Pollard PBL ?They print lottery tickets and currencies. As a small and first time investor ( I joined you service a year ago and it took me some months to deploy both my wife and mine- very very hard earned TFSA savings -). Q: What do you make of the take-up on the ALC tender offer? I recognize that there were severe tax disadvantages involved but in a TFSA, RESP, RRIF, RRSP one would not care. 25% take up was even less than I expected. During 2017 there have been 2 dividend increases and the tender offer. Do you think they might be signaling improved operating performance?
Also, with respect to Bob Rose's question regarding the strategic review of ADN, it came to naught. Please refer to the Q1 2016 report of May 9, 2016.

Q: There was a typo in my question. I meant UFS not UPS. For simplicities sake I have repeated my question correcting the typo.

Looking over the previous questions on UFS you note debt his a bit too high and little growth has been observed.
1) If we assume online shopping trend strengthens do you think this will increase UFS’s profitability?
2) Does UFS produce the cardboard used to make packaging?
3) Assuming UFS produces newsprint do you think any strengthening in cardboard prices will will be matched with weakness in newsprint prices leading to zero net gain (or worse)?
4) Does UFS own their electricity generation infrastructure and if so is it fully utilized or do they have surplus which could be sold?
5) How vulnerable is UFS to competition from other companies?
I note since the last question in August UFS’s share price has increased by about $8 and set a new high on December 15th on rising volume. Momentum seems to be swinging to the positive.
