Q: These companies appeal to me for various reasons, some of which I currently own. For new money in an unregistered account, in your opinion which two would have the most pop in the near future and likely for a 3 yr hold? Thanks.

Q: Hi Peter and staff,
Thanks for the great information that you guys provide.
These are the holdings in my wife's TFSA account. I have owned CNR since March of 2020 and have done quite well but I'm wondering if this stock has reached the top of the price range and it's time to move on. The average Price Target is $165. Do you think that CNR still has upside or can you name two stocks to replace it.

Thanks and have a great day
Joe

Q: I have a couple of stocks which have effectively gone to $0 a couple of years ago. But, I'm not sure why they're still listed in my margin account, if they're worthless.

My broker is offering a service where I can donate the shares to them, and then officially declare a tax loss. I'm thinking of taking them up on this offer, but I want your opinion, just in case either of these stocks still has some life left in it (or if I'm not understanding the $0 valuation properly). For example, the assets of Bellatrix Exploration (oil and gas) were taken over by another company. I assume this was some kind of bankruptcy sale.

Is it safe to say that with a reasonable probability that the shares of both Bellatrix and Distinct Infrastructure are effectively worthless?

Q: What is your opinion on the activist investor situation at CNR? I remember when this happened with CP a few years ago. Even though I never bought in, the stock did very well in the years following Hunter Harrison being appointed CEO.

I'm asking because I am currently light in industrials, I have postions in TT, WSP, TFI, XYL. I was considering a position in CNR for my RRSP.

Q: Good Morning Peter & Team,

As follow up to Roberts question answered earlier today... why have PBH & QSR performed so antithetically? Is QSR trading at a discount?

Thanks for all you do

Q: The volatility of crypto makes me wonder whether it is only a speculative trade or does it have substance? Although one could imagine a generic currency, possibly for international exchange, away from the US$, but fluctuations indicate more gambling than otherwise, especially considering the variety of cryptos now on the market. Might there be any controls/guidelines expected?
Thank you!

Q: I hold TTD In a growth focused portfolio at a small profit but looking for more torque. Would you swap it out for AT?

Same situation for a position with ECN and adding those funds to small positions of DND and EGLX.

Q: I have a half position in PBH (it's done quite well since purchase) and I'd like to either add to PBH or gain additional sector exposure by bringing in QSR. Would you recommend one over the other?

Q: Hello Peter,
With recent announcements of US companies launching Bitcoin ETFs, there is a concern that Canadian Companies may experience outflows. If so, i would think if one was invested in a bitcoin eft such as the one from purpose or evolve, the stock price (representing etf of bitcoin) would still go up if bitcoin went up? Hence, i don't see concern from putting monies in the canadian ETFs. Any comments please? Also, what is your opinion on whether the etfs are hedged? Does it mean the hedging works both ways whether the canadian dollar goes up or down? I was expecting Nuvei to do much better after the US listing but the stock has not moved. Are you still comfortable with new monies in Nuvei? Lastly, i was thinking of increasing my position to 3 percent for ATS automation. From your responses, you seem to like the stock. Thanks very much.

Q: Brookfield Companies.

They are a comfortable base holding for me.

If the intent of your (5i) investment strategy is to “beat the market,” is it time to sell these holdings and look for better growth and/or income?

Q: I am a 74-year-old, retired, conservative investor. Please advise if investing new money into REITS and Preferreds would be advisable at this time when it is likely that interest rates will be rising in the near term. My portfolio is currently balanced with 50% in 5-year laddered GICs, 10% in corporate bonds, and 40% in income generating ETFs; 51% Canada, 32% U.S., 15% Europe, and 2% Asia. Thank you.
