Q: Dear 5i,
Your ENGH report dated August 27, 2020 stated insider ownership of 22%.
I looked at the insider information on the company provided by your web site and could not find a statistic for current %insider ownership but, I did see %institutional ownership. Where can I find this information? It looks like insiders have been selling lately. Can you please tell me the current %insider ownership.

thanks

Q: In answer to a buy/hold/sell inquiry you answered "We would give it a higher risk HOLD rating right now. "
What exactly does this mean?
Is there a point at which a higher risk hold becomes a lower risk hold and then a buy?
What should I read anything into the fact that the hold was capitalized?
How many categories of hold are there?

Q: I have to laugh about inflation/CPI gaining ground versus same time last year? Really? With lock downs and pent up demand who would expect anything else. I read a great article from the head of the Fisher group in the USA. To summarize: this is transitory for the two reasons I mention and others. Be interested in 5i comments. Oh, the huge debt precludes any significant move up for interest rates. Would be happy to send it to you - very bright guy.

Q: This could be not so bright question but I'll ask anyway. I have been involved in self directed investing for a few months now. My plan is to create a 250k balanced portfolio....watch and learn for a while and then begin to invest the balance of my cash assets. I deployed the first tranche based on the sector allocations in my original plan. However as I have been building the portfolio stocks in various sectors have gone up and down....mostly up thankfully. Here's the question. Should I calculate my sector allocation percentages by the book cost...so I can get a baseline as I add more.....or by their current value. Thanks for your reply

Q: One of your answers re: DND management-led takeover was "management-led takeovers are not as good as arbitrage plays as third-party overtures. Financing is at times an issue, as it is relatively easy for management to 'walk' away from the proposal and just go back to how things were and return to the status quo". In the past few years, would you list the companies whose management-led takeover have been successful or have walked away?

Q: Answer to Gary (June 8) about budget records. We use Quicken Home and Business. It keeps track of investments (records security percentages and updates easily) and day to day banking. It is a lot of work to initially input information if a large number of securities and accounts so we will likely stick with it. No longer use Mint as we had to go to card websites to check balances and activity anyway.

Q: This may be outside your area, but perhaps someone will comment.

I want to prepare a home budget of income and outgo and would like to have it for just myself and also as a couple. I currently use pencil and paper and don't find Excel to be user friendly. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Q: good afternoon - with all the news on hacking and ransomware attacks I have become concerned with the safety of my investment accounts and I expect many of your members will share this concern. How worrisome is this for individual investors? For those, like myself, who deal with a major bank ( RBC Direct, etc) I assume the banks provide cybersecurity at their end but what about at my point of access to my accounts. I currently use a commercial password protection program but wonder if I should be doing more. This may be out of your field of expertise but you are likley wary about protecting your own accounts and would appreciate any guidance you can offer. many thanks , al

Q: I bought these semis over the past few years in different accounts at different times in both non-registered and registered accounts. All of them did very well for me. I added them up yesterday and noticed they are over 5% of all my invested assets. As much as I hate to sell winners I probably would have to trim soon. Do you have any suggestions as to the trimming methodology? Reduce each and every one by half (or third) of its current value. Selectively sell some and not others? Sell the ones in registered accounts as there is no immediate tax consequence. keep the ones in taxable accounts? Sell some and keep the promising ones (can you tell or predict?) ? Any other suggestions? I have a high degree of risk tolerance. Thanks.
