Q: Hi 5i team,

Any thoughts on how far this trend of selling tech or renewables will continue? Looks like NASDAQ is now negative ytd with many of your Canadian techs down 20+ percent ytd.

When would you seriously start putting floor bids on the favs like CSU, KXS, LSPD, WELL, REAL, SCR, and XBC? If you could put in dollar amts for each it would also be great.

Thx

Q: I currently hold STC, CSU, SHOP, KXS and OTEX as tech in a well-diversified portfolio. I am thinking of selling OTEX in order to get more long term growth. I want to maintain my diversification in tech but also don't want to add on significantly more risk. I was thinking of adding one of LSPD, CRWD or U.

You have mentioned in the past LSPD and SHOP could be seen as similar. I could use a US-based investment so does it boil down to CRWD or U? Or, given my parameters, just stay the course or is there another equity you think may fit better?

Appreciate the insight.

Q: With so much attention on EV’s, questions
related to charging stations - and battery suppliers are becoming more important.

I am looking for a basket of companies in which to invest that 5i believes can benefit from these developments.

As part of this theme I am wondering:
1. Where will people recharge their vehicles?
Will traditional gas stations - including companies like ATD.B and PKI - retrofit some of their gas pumps to charging stations?

2. Who will supply the volume of batteries that are expected to be required? As someone said the other day “ right now Tesla owns the “bakery” ....which gives it a huge competitive advantage over the other potential competitors.

Thanks for your help here.

Q: What would you suggest as a way to gain exposure to Electric Vehicles (EV’s)?

I have electric producers, as a common denominator, but wonder whether direct investment into auto or parts makers, and/or battery components (lithium/graphite) would be worthwhile.

Any suggestions for some small dabbles?

Q: Do you concur with seeking Alpha? Thanks!
Canadian Solar Inc. (CSIQ) is cheaply valued. Especially considering its growth potential. The company has a strong backlog in energy projects and plans significant production capacity expansion. It is also planning to unlock value by an IPO in China of a subsidiary. The relative valuation to peers looks good as well. The company had a strong performance over the past year, it's still a bit behind other solar stocks as shown by the Invesco Solar ETF (TAN).
