Q: Hi Peter and Team
With the expectation that both the Canadian and US markets should do well for the next two years, can you suggest 5 CDN and 5 US stocks to consider for long term purchase in reasonably well balanced registered portfolios (RRIF and TFSA) that now have significant (>15%) cash positions. Thanks for the ongoing support.
Peter

Q: Hello Peter,
Could you please comment on curaleaf's earnings and their reach into Europe? I would have thought their numbers and their global reach would have caused the stock to surge but it was tempered.. Also, given that US is not federally regulated, i thought US companies could not go international as I would have expected them to acquire outside USA at an earlier date. Any comments. Finally, since Curaleaf trades on cdnx, and if it is to move to Nasdaq or NYSE (with federal changes), what would happen to my shares. I know if it is TSXV to TSX or NYSE, it is non-issue. I just wanted clarity if shares traded on neo or cdnx, if same applies. Thanks very much.

Q: I am going to sell my Flutter shares for tax reasons and either repurchase them or buy another gaming stock. Can you provide me a list of your current favourite gaming stocks to choose from. I have a long time frame. I haven't traded OTC shares before and I believe you have advised just hitting the bids.

Q: In a broadly diversified portfolio, for a risk tolerant investor, how would you rate these stocks on a 1 - 10 scale, with a "10" meaning for sure you want this stock in your portfolio, and a "1" being you absolutely do not want this stock in your portfolio. Long term time horizon, looking for growth. AT, CTS, DCBO, DOC, DND, NVEI, TIXT, WELL, WISH.

Q: Given the state of the markets, what would some of your current favorite names be to add to a new RESP account for my son? I've set aside $10k to take a few stock positions early on (anticipated long term hold as he's a newborn) and then am thinking going forward I'll devote annual contributions to a more passive approach (boarder market ETFs, etc.).

With a smaller account like this diversification decisions seem a little more difficult. Any general suggestions on RESP considerations would also be appreciated.

Thanks for the great service!

Q: DOC closed a bought deal today at 2.70 in the face of a market price which is much lower now but was a bit above the deal pricing when announced. I assume the brokers and/or underwriters will want to recover the value of their investment but I do not know how this sort of event generally proceeds. Can you clarify please, including the role and obligations of the parties and the likely outcome for the share price. Thanks

Q: With the recent 10% correction in technology stocks, do you think it is a good time to buy. Would appreciate your recommendation of 3 Canadian and 3 US stocks to buy. I am looking for growth and can take risk. Thanks

Q: I purchased Docusign last year and until very recently it seemed like a great choice. It’s sharp decline that began in late February has been significantly steeper than the tech sell-off in general. The shares are now right about where I paid for them and a hair away from succumbing to the old adage “never let a gain turn into a loss”. The steep sell-off has me worried that it is a precursor to the street expecting disappointing earnings when they report this Thursday. I know what the consensus forecast is, but what does 5i’s crystal ball predict for their upcoming Q4 earnings and the market reaction?

Q: When do you think we are going to see the market sell off settle down in some of these names? Is this panic selling by retail investors or a more troubling move by smart money out of these names entirely? I'm just finding it hard to imagine that the prospects for these companies changed as dramatically as the share price in recent weeks. Take NVDA for instance. I thought it was everyone's darling a few weeks ago when I bought it over $100 higher. I'm holding but it's hard watching these things fall so dramatically each day without reprieve it seems. Thanks.

Q: Hi there,

With eye towards overlap, could you please rank these Canadian stocks you’d buy and hold for long term growth growth only assuming the top four would be held and the rest of the portfolio would be well balanced… Thx, M
