Q: Hi Team,

Can we get your assessment of Solium, Legacy & BioSyent under current market conditions, debt levels, survivability and prospects over the next couple years. Would legacy be able to withstand a sustained period of low oil prices?

As always, thanks for the hand holding during these difficult times. It made a difference for some of us.

Q: I have some money set aside and would like to take advantage of the pullback and buy 2 industrial stocks and 2 consumer stocks. I already own BGI.UN and DH, and the rest of my portfolio is well balanced in other sectors. I am looking at a long term hold with a view of overall return combining growth and div.
I'm looking at the following stocks in Consumer: SJR.B, BCE, T, PJC.A and ATB.B
And the following in Industrial: WTE, CAE, CNR, MG and AC.B
Could you suggest 2 in each sector (or suggest another stock that may be preferable to my choices) and let me know the basics of the choice?

Q: I am in the process of rebalancing my portfolio to better match my target sector allocation. I am currently underweight in both healthcare and utilities. My only holding in healthcare is the US ETF (XLV), and my only utility holding is Brookfield Renewable (BEP.UN). Can you suggest one or two other names in each of these sectors that you would recommend for new buying at this time. In the Utility space I would prefer something other than a power producer since I already hold Brookfield. Could Telus (which I don’t own) be considered similar to a utility? My goal would be moderate growth with a long (several year) time horizon but in particular I like companies that are likely to hold up better than their peers in the event of a market downturn.

Q: Could you give an updated comment on this company, please. Also, in case you don't already know, the search feature doesn't seem to be working properly - tried ATA plus a couple of other symbols and I was getting a lot of non-related stock symbols returned.

Q: I note on Sept 24 the CEO moved 147k shares ($2.6M worth) to different accounts - including $540k worth to his RRSP. Is it safe to assume this was purely for tax reasons, and can we infer he thought the stock was finding a bottom at $18?
It's amazing that the company easily raised $100M at $29 just 6 months ago. At 1/2 that price it appears a compelling buy.

Q: Hello Peter and team,

I would like to increase my exposure to the technology sector (10% to 15% of my portfolio). Currently it is 6.2% of my portfolio (4.1% in CSU and 2.1% in AVO). Should I add to these stocks to increase the weighting, or would you suggest other technology stocks to complement what I have. I am considering OTC. I am a medium risk, buy and hold investor (hold for 3+ years).

A similar question with consumer staples. I only have ATD.B and it is 3.8% of my portfolio. Should I add more to this stock, or would you suggest another stock to complement what I have.

I know it is practically against the law of investing to average down, but I could not resist picking up some AVO today at $13.52. Sir John Templeton said to “buy at the point of maximum pessimism”, and there has been a lot of pessimism lately on that stock. Easier said than done. I have not been able to tell when the point of “maximum pessimism” is reached until long after it has occurred. However, what gauges would you use to help you pinpoint the point of maximum pessimism for a company?

Was the correction just due to the sector pull-back?

Q: Just a quick question to get any latest thoughts on EFN. It's been down a lot (so sell?) but it's getting to the bottom of its range (so buy more?). What do you think. I have half a position.

2. Why doesn't anyone talk about WARRANTS here or on BNN. I've made a lot of quick $$$ on them, and lost a lot on Gold Warrants. e.g. I bought AYA.wt.A @ $2 and sold them @ $13. I was an idiot....and should have sold half and waited to sell the rest at double that.
I recently bought IT.wt @ $0.89 and it is now trading @ $4.70, so I ask again, is this the next AMAYA???

Q: With Air Canada (AC.B) too going to join the baggage fees trend which might raise their revenues by $50 and $75 million dollars in new revenue according to globalnews.ca reports and also their fleet changing to 787 models which is believe to save 25% of their present fuel cost, what is your take for this stock ?

Q: What are your views on Avigilon (AVO)? It hast dropped off quite a bit - is there a reason and would it be a buy, sell or hold?
