Q: My son is currently 39 years old and is trying to develop a solid diversified portfolio. All of his holdings are in his RRSP except for some money in a Tangerine International growth fund which is in his TFSA. He has some new funds to add to his holdings. Could you please recommend some companies from your model portfolios that would add more diversification to his portfolio keeping in mind his relatively long investment horizon. As always, thanks for your advice.
Q: Hi, The recent large acquisition seems to have garnered strong market interest. After staying at $2.05-$2.15 level for a few days, stock price has taken off to new highs over last week, on heavy volume. Your recent comments indicate some concern over debt financing and have kept me on the sidelines. Am I missing the boat and is it worth starting with a partial position at these levels?

Q: Good morning 5i team,
I’m considering moving on from Linamar and CGI group in search of better growth prospects. I still like both companies, and believe they still have a good outlook, however, after holding each for some time I’ve been growing restless with the share prices seemingly stuck in the mud. Perhaps I’m just being impatient, but I cant help but wonder if these holdings are dead money. At least for the next year or two anyway.
I’m considering switching out Linamar for either New Flyer Industries, or Premium Brands Holdings, and CGI for either Kinaxis or Celestica.
Could you please give your opinion on whether it’s worth being patient with LNR/GIB.A, or a good idea to move on? And if moving on is recommended, would you consider the alternatives I’ve mentioned as good replacements with growth for the next 1-2 years in mind?
As always, thank you for your excellent insight and advice.
Tristan.

Q: In the last question related to CRH, you indicated that it had a forward PE Ratio of over 40X, and a P/BV ratio of 14X.
That sounds very expensive, even if it is a high growth stock. How is this any different than some of the marijuana stocks you have indicated we should avoid due to extended valuations?
I guess my question is - how do you know when a stock is too expensive? Is there a metric one can use that says x% revenue growth can be priced as high as 'y' P/E or 'z' P/BV?

Q: If Freshii (FRII) considered to be within the Consumer Discretionary sector?
Also, if it is intending on tripling the number of locations, what would that mean for its stock price? I'm trying to reconcile its growth plans with its valuation which seems to fluctuate a lot since its IPO.

Q: I am a 21 year old investor with a long investment horizon. In my TFSA, both CPH and MRE have stagnated and I am thinking of selling these and moving on. Would you endorse this move and if so, could you recommend your top 2 names (any sector) to replace them?
Thank You!
Thank You!
Q: How do you see the future for these two stocks...which would you prefer?
Q: The stock is on the move since they reported.
You had expressed concerns about valuation.
What would you make of it now?
Thanks,
Daniel

Q: Assuming no investment boundaries what so ever (i.e. risk tolerance, time horizon, diversification, loss of principle, etc) and you wanted to invest a large but comfortable amount of money in one company for a "go big or go home" result which company would you invest in?
Q: what was the issue with shareholders and the management of photon and with these resignations is the company better off or worse off. dave
Q: follow up to my previous question why the halt--the news is out unless there is a part two. dave
Q: Hi. I would like to add 2 to 3 stocks to the growth part of my portfolio. What US/Canadian suggestions do you have? My portfolio is well balanced so I am not too concerned about sector. Currently I have SHOP, CSU, SJ. thanks, J
Q: A couple of days ago, Greenspace Brands had a NR which appears to indicate that they are making serious in roads into the retail space in Canada with a multitude of products. Although a small company at this point and despite the competitive nature of the business, their rapid progress is impressive and management seem to be very switched on. In addition, the warrants also look like a serious bargain given that they don't expire for 2 years.
In light of these developments, is it possible that you may begin to analyze JTR as a potential candidate for your growth fund.
Keep up the great work.

Q: Could you please comment on the latest order the companies prospects going forward. Thanks.
Q: Hello Team 5i!
Can I have your opinion on Grande West Transportation. The stock was recently highlighted in a research report on Globe Investor. Company is looking to capture new market share with niche mid-size city buses to replace current full size ones made by competitors that operate 80% empty most of the time. The company is apparently qualified for the Buy America program, looking to the US to drive growth and is at the cusp of great earnings. Seems interesting. The next New Flyer (or their next acquisition)? The time to get on the bus or stay at the curb?
Thanks for all your help.
Dave

Q: TOS recently released results with revenue up from 0.15 million to 3.75 with a loss of $0.02.
Revenue growth is massive (albeit from a very low number). Is this growth expected to continue? Where will/could this company be in 1 - 3 years? Any idea when they expect to have positive earnings?
I'm a holder (~1% of portfolio) and wondering if I should add. I personally like the technology and progress of the company thus far but continue to seek your input.

Q: I've been thinking of adding Sleep Country to my portfolio. I'm hesitating a bit based on the current PE valuation. Do you think the potential growth for the company justifies the current valuation or is it better to wait for a pull back?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: Why the drop in Freshii? Is this just because of the Subway blurp or is there more to it? Do you still feel $13 is a good entry point?
Thanks,
Paul
Thanks,
Paul
Q: Thoughts on ER? Thanks.
