Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: I just received an email from Citron talking about SDGR. They feel it is the second coming of TSLA but of course, in a different industry.
They are a brand new IPO and are up 20% today, but would this be worth purchasing in the event that it pulls back to prior to the letter and held for a period of time.
In a nutshell they recap it thusly:

"Through use of artificial intelligence and a world class scientific team that is unmatched by ANY public company, Schrodinger has created a software platform that integrates predictive physics-based methods with machine learning to become the leader in molecular simulation that 1) reduces the average time and cost required to identify a drug development candidate and 2) increases the probability of drug discovery programs entering clinical development.

With the global pharma industry spending approximately $180 billion on R&D annually, this innovative software platform is completely disrupting the drug development process."

Would you invest in this concept yourselves, once you research more about it.? I know its not a p/e , value play it may or may not be TSLA of 10 years ago.

Thanks

Sheldon

Q: I bought into both of these companies last year and am down about 50% (along with the rest of the sector). In spite of the overall sector performance what would be your expectation of these 2 companies for this year and next? Should I get out while there is still something left and reinvest into something considerably less volatile or is there a chance these companies can still make a comeback in the short term?? Thanks

Q: We have given our 19 year-old Son $12K to maximize his TFSA. I have advised him to watch North American ETFs, now that we are at the top of the economic cycle. Can you recommend a few individual Canadian stocks with a 6+ year time horizon? Would you recommend any International, European or developing world ETFs?
Thank you!!

Q: How would you view this company and stock? I read the the Ontario Teachers Pension has increased it's holdings by quite a bit recently as well as other investors and analysts commenting they are warming up to BB. Can you also comment on their autonomous driving applications or other projects they are involved in? This would be a long term purchase 5-10 years. Thanks as always

Q: Hello Gentlemen,
I own shares of all 4 of these companies and considering selling 3 of them and dumping all of it into FAF.
Or shall I hang on to all of them and see if I break even over time.
Total shares is about 2.5 % of my portfolio.
Your input would be appreciated.
Thank you

Q: We have the following in our RESP: ABT, BNS, NFI, ENB, TRP, PIF, MX, and BEP.UN and ~$4,000 in cash. The grandkids are now 6 and 5. As you can see, no particular philosophy has been at work so far. What might you suggest adding to the mix? Is there anything that should be sold?

Thanks, Bob.
