Q: Hi, could you please comment on TGZ earnings. They look to me like they will dissapoint quite a bit, but don't understand the one-time writedown. Is this a broken growth story, or just patiently wait for Oromin transaction to provide advantage still? Thanks!

Q: What are your thoughts on the long term prospects for S and FM? I currently own Sherritt and was wondering if it would be a good idea to sell it and buy First Quantum instead - all things being equal.
Thanks and keep up the good work!

Q: Hi Peter and Team, regarding Mandalay, MND, any further thoughts or updates since your last response in March on MND? Thanks!
Q: Hi, I know you don't cover this junior I'm just wondering if you have any insights on Elgin Mining (ELG) that's being bought out @ 0.37 cash but its trading @ 0.42. It looks as though both parties are liking it but why the trade up? I can't find anything saying the transaction is negative by management or shareholders, lawsuits etc. Should I continue to hold for a better offer?
Q: MDI - Major Drilling Group
Hi Team, the last opinion on MDI was September 2013. What is your opinion now please.
Thank you. Michael

Q: Brilliant Peter and his Wonder Team
I am not a Gold Bug by any means. However because of global financial fundamentals I can see gold returning to test $2000.00 per ounce within the next 3 years. In any event I do want insurance and do not want to participate in the 'herd panic' if things become unstable as we enter unchartered waters...when they have to stop printing money and inflation begins to return.
I do believe Gold will comeback into favor. If Gold is near a bottom I think it is a good time to buy because the risk is low and the reward high. What I mean is...even if Gold rises slightly in three years I will not loose money and probably make a little. Concurrently if our fears materialize Gold may save me. My question...What is the highest % of Gold should I have in my portfolio and still maintain diversification. Please keep in mind my strategic thinking. Also how many gold stocks should I have? If you think I am misguided do not hesitate to be direct ...I always value your insights and recommendations!

Q: I have recently added Hudbay to my portfolio and am looking for another mining stock to add. What would you suggest?
Q: Perhaps you could indulge me with a few suggestions. I have owned TML for ions, but I see insider buying. Should I sell now or perhaps buy more. I have been successful with CWX on buying because of insiders and am up 20% in 2 weeks. Should I sell it now since I see the future 1/4's may be cyclically weaker. I have also owned TMM forever, I am above water but wonder if I should sell and deploy somewhere else. Now that Sentry has put their person on the board do you forsee upside (as in possible merger or takeover)?
I am wondering because CAT remarks have indicated little business in the mining sector, if I should give up on the golds despite the so called good seasonality of the metal at this time. Would you sell the above mentioned positions and deploy elsewhere, and if so what sectors would be appealing. I could add to health, tech, consumer cyclicals, I will await your comments & recommendations. Thank you so much for your objective evaluations, they are very much appreciated.

Q: In February you were positive about Trevali (TV). It seems to be on the move right now. Do you still think it is a good investment? Thanks for your always good advice.
Q: Hello 5I,
My question is on Interfor (IFP). Obviously a play on the North American Lumber Market. This appears to be compelling entry point. Both TD and CIBC has rated them with a price target at $22. Your thoughts on the company would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Bob Ahearn

Q: I am wondering what you think of URZ.
Q: Scorpio Mining (SPM.TO). After several years of basically avoiding the base metals industry, I have gradually been reorienting my portfolios with the addition of LUN,HBM,FM and TEK.B. So far so good and I have now decided to add a little more torque and started buying SPM this morning which besides zinc, lead and copper gives me some additional silver exposure. I have read your previous comments on SPM and wonder if, at this time, you have anything to add on this speculative investment? At this point it represents well less than 1 percent of my total investments.
Q: Hi Team, could I please have your thoughts on RBI as it is down drastically this past few days. any news would be appreciated. I would also like your thoughts on Largo, LGO is it a buy at the moment. thank you for the great service. Bob.
Q: RE: ORV
Peter, Please see Orvana's Minerals' July 17th news release regarding it's accelerated debt repayment:
Orvana's debt, net of cash, cash equivalents and restricted cash, is now down to $13.7-million (U.S.) from $40.0-million (U.S.) at March 31, 2014.
I would note that this debt repayment was accomplished without an equity issue but was accomplished through cash flow, the sale of a non producing non core asset and the monetizing of its hedge book. In fact the company has not issued equity in over a decade.
I think ORV is one of the cheapest gold producers on almost every metric.
Cheers, Jim

Q: What is your opinion of anglo-pacific (APY)?
Q: Could you please update your opinion of ORV,PRU, and TME Thanx
Q: Hello Peter & Co,
Yamana Gold has lagged Goldcorp (5i equity) and the XGD basket partly because of its venture with Osisko; I'm thinking of buying it (for one seasonal cycle) purely on a valuation basis.
I'm not confortable enough with gold to make it a long term holding.
Your comments?
Thanks
Tony

Q: Hi 5i Team,
I read an article on Seeking Alpha today recommending a play on gold and silver via a closed-end fund called Central Fund of Canada (CEF). It is supposed to be trading at a 5% discount and that is meant to be unusual (but it happens from time to time).
Any time someone writes about "free" money I am suspicious. Do you have any comments about this investment alternative? The article is here: http://seekingalpha.com/article/2310905-how-to-get-a-big-discount-on-gold?ifp=0
Thanks again for your great service.
