Q: Hi 5i Team, I'm looking for a couple of solid picks in the Material Sector where I am looking to increase my exposure. In this sector I currently hold SJ, G, and small amount of FM. And just to make this challenge a little harder I need something that pays a dividend. Thanks again for all your help. Mario.

Q: Hi, I am down significantly on a position in Capstone Mining. Your thoughts on this company balance sheet and assets to weather this copper price environment. Would you consider it a hold or cut losses (in a RRSP so cannot take a tax loss)?

Q: Hello Team
I have been reading a few different newsletters now that are recommending to start accumulating in the gold sector and lightening up on equities and bonds. These are the same people that predicted oil would be at 40.00. Some of the reasons they are stating this has to do with that economic condition of Japan and europe. Lack of QE from the US. Downturn in commodities and now the China effect. What are you thoughts/opinions on gold sector and the accumulation of gold stocks/etf or bullion?

Q: Hi, my holdings in basic materials is presently below my target of 5% for the group (Stella Jones, Goldcorp and First Quantum). I was thinking of purchasing more First Quantum hoping to take part in the eventual recovery in this sector. Just curious of your thoughts. What is the likelyhood that FM will not survive? Are they holding too much debt? Would you recommend a different move? Thanks. Mario.

Q: found a note on my desk to buy bhp at 60 and now its just about cut in half. Its a large cap that is in an out of favour sector with a pe of 10 but has raised its dividend for the last five years.Its dividend now stands at 6.6 .My question is at what rate would the dividend support the price?

Q: Hi 5i: Could you please comment on Trevali's 2nd Quarter results? Also, what is the outlook for zinc? While I can find information on the iron ore and copper outlook, I can't find much on zinc in the sources I have access to.

Q: I was stupid enough to hold onto FM after you removed it from your model portfolio and now sitting at 55% loss that grows every day. It currently represents less than 1% of my portfolio, so I may eventually sell for tax loss. Yet, I don't understand why we got such a quick decline in just a few months... China worries and power concerns cannot explain such a drop, especially, as you confirmed in the answer to another question, for the stock that has 20 Buy recommendations and only 1 Sell recommendation. Something is very strange going on there and that's why I am hesitant to sell... Do you expect a recovery within 3 years? Do you see any bottom for the stock price? How bad is the company's debt situation?
