Q: Silver stocks vs Gold stocks. They both move together however Silver has an industrial use where gold does not. Both are used in Jewellery. Would it not be prudent to invest in only silver stocks and not gold stocks for better future leverage ? Bob

Q: Good afternoon, as a follow up question on metrics this one for mining. Looking at comp tables from Royal if I understand correctly. First they determine the net asset value of the company on forward commodity curves and from this you get the discount to NAV. On a p/e and p/cfps it is more expensive but is cheaper on ev/ebitda with a discount to nav of 37.8%. -21% debt and div of .16$ US now. Sounds like an option to reduce exposure to utilities while collecting a nice dividend.
Am I missing something ?
Thanks

Q: Hello 5i team,
I hold in the materials sector Chemtrade Logistics, Methanex and Stella Jones; I'm thinking of selling CHE to buy a position in base metals
1. Is there any momentum left after the huge run up?
2. Nevsun has not participated in the run-up; wonder why
3. What 3 would you recommend, in order of preference
4. How about an ETF such as XBM or ZMT?
Thanks
Antoine

Q: I have no metals or minerals in my portfolio. I seem to be getting a late start on this sector but I was deterred by negative EPS in most of these companies. If you could suggest one company to start, what would you suggest. I am a balanced investor and have been looking at LIF because of its dividend and HBM and CS for growth and concentration in copper.

Q: I think Aquila has been raising money by selling shares which were over-subscribed. It looks like insiders have purchased 24% of the issued shares. Finder's fees (cash and warrants) have been awarded to company insiders I suppose. Certainly there has been share dilution but surely dilution is preferable to borrowing money against non-existant cash flow. I know the stock is high risk but my exposure is very low - less than 0.1%.
2 questions...
Does everything still look OK to 5i?
Does Hudbay own any part of the Back-Fourty target?
Thanks

Q: mnd has had a fair amount of insider selling by a few insiders , besides gmt, from november thru january, I can understand if options are exercised or other reasons but this seems a bit above the norm to me and makes me wonder if something is wrong here. mnd does not seem to participate in the gold rallies. No insiders have stepped in to buy at these levels. Have you heard any thing that may account for the selling and under performance? Do you still like the company? I am considering a purchase here to maybe a 2% equity weighting.
thanks Tom

Q: Hello Team, Elon Musk is building his battery Gigafactory in Sparks Nevada. It appears there are 14 other battery Gigafactories on the drawing boards, soon to be built around the world. The demand for batteries to power EV's and everything in your house will continue to push up the demand for Lithium. ALB controls 22% of world Li supply, so seems like a good large cap choice. For a more speculative pic I am considering, PE,LAC, or GALXF. Do you have any thoughts on these stocks or other Li stocks you prefer? Thanks Team Chris
