Q: Thank you for your help regarding historical valuations of young davidsons mine which was taken over by Alamos gold. Thanks to you we were able to get the stock certificates issued in my mother-in-laws name. Now she wants to sell the certificates and I need to determine the value my father-in-law paid for the original 1000 shares of young Davidson's mine August 24 1984. Can you help?

Q: I try to maintain a diversified portfolio. However, I am wondering when you refer to owing "materials" what role metals and other mineable resources should play. For example, I tend not to own metals or mining stocks but instead, I choose to invest in other materials such as chemicals (MX) or lumber (SJ) (and maybe even including CCL as your portfolios list it as materials).

Am I getting "proper" diversification this way or should one also invest in gold, silver, copper assets etc?

Appreciate your insight.

Q: Hi 5i
Thanks for the service

I purchased TV recently seeing the momentum but clearly that has stopped.
With a purchase price higher than latest close and technical view of chart shows price breaking down, does one get out and wait for some pain to pass?

Chart movement indicates it could easily get back to $1.10; offering me a significant loss on initial purchase.

Would you please add some thoughts on the negative price action for this name?

Q: Hello" Back in April, Saad asked you if he should hold DPM after not seeing any appreciation after a long time. I hold it in my RRIF and it has done nothing for several years and pays no dividend. Do you feel the same as you did when you responded to Saad or would you take a pass and move on.
Thanks for all the advise you have given over the past years. My portfolios have done well due to it. They are self administered.

Q: Hi Peter,
Thank you for your prompt response to my previous question on SQM. I have some follow-up questions on SQM.
1) Does the government of Chile have an ownership position in SQM?
2) Do insiders own shares of SQM and if so have they been adding to or reducing their positions?
3) You noted in response to a member question that the government of India has been pressuring POT to sell their SQM shares. If POT sells their shares do you think SQM's share price will go down or is the market strong enough to absorb the new float?
4) Does SQM carry excessive debt?
5) Does SQM have a good record of matching or beating estimates?
6) Do SQM's deposits have generally good grades or are they almost exhausted and marginal?
...and finally...
7) Do you feel investors are too early on lithium or is demand actually growing?
I realize I am asking a lot of questions on one company so please deduct as many question credits as you think appropriate.
Thanks,
Jim
