Q: RBC has down graded ABX mostly because of concerns with the Acacia mine in Tanzania. I would like to increase my investment in ABX, as I think the market may be turning to the gold sector for safety in these turbulent times. How concerned should I be about the RBC report? Do you agree? In past comments you have favoured/suggested alternative gold companies, do you have a preference today? ABX is my only gold holding...
..Thankyou, Lionel
Q: The Alliance pipeline delivers natural gas from Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and the Williston Basin to the Chicago market hub. The spread in the natural gas price is over 3 dollars. $1.50 in Canada and $4.50 in Chicago.

Q: Can I please get a run down on this company. How does it compare on a growth and valuation perspective to ROXG? I'm looking to add some small cap gold producers to my portfolio. Thanks again
Q: This stock looks like good value to me compared to peers and the market in general. Has a low P/E, high ROE, and decent free cash flow generation which is quite uncharacteristic for the sector. In your opinion what has caused the SP to slide and do you think it is a decent spec buy? I've heard there is heightened political risk with this name. Could you speak to this a little? Thanks.
Q: Evrim Resources (EVM) dropped about 75% today on the latest drilling results from its 100% owned Cuale project in Mexico. However this company has several other projects which are well financed through joint ventures with other gold companies. I am just wondering if this stock has been oversold since there should be substantial value in the other projects even though they are joint ventured. Could you please comment on the accuracy of my take on this as well as any further information you could provide including the cash position, overall financial health, insider ownership/recent buying or selling, and quality/experience of management. Thanks as always for your great service.
Q: Hi 5i team - I have heard recently that the demand for nickel will increase as the production of batteries increases. Could you please give me your opinion on the accuracy of this statement and also your view on the supply of nickel. Is it really dwindling as the author of this statement claims. Are there other uses for nickel that could have an effect on the market. Also would you be able to provide the names of a few companies involved with nickel that you think are well managed with decent fundamentals. Perhaps one major producer, one smaller mid-tier producer and one or two whose main focus is exploration. Thank you.
Q: What do you interpret from the latest news release in particular the resignation of Josh Crumb and the future of the Mene collaboration?
- Katanga Mining Limited (KAT)
- Electra Baterry Materials Corp Com (FCC)
- Cobalt 27 Capital Corp. (KBLT)
Q: I heard a radio item about the growing demand for cobalt which is needed for batteries. It seems there are several cobalt mining ventures in Canada. Do you know of any that would make a respectable investment opportunity?
What do you think of First Cobalt and Cobalt 27 Capital?
Thanks!

Q: I know its early days, but from what I have read Mene has excellent potential, do you agree ?
Financing was announced Friday, and the stock went down seems excessive to me, new start ups usually do this to get money for expansion, they will have $ 40 M total cash after this financing. Would you buy Mene now ? Insiders own a lot of stock. Do you think we will know who the private investor is on Sedar after the closing of financing ? This investor is in for $ 20 M with the intent of $ 80 M additional, this is a lot of money, this investor is obviously close to Mene and would not invest so much without doing his due diligence.
Comments ?
Thanks

Q: Harry Dent and others claim that the markets are about to crash and we should get rid of all gold and silver holdings. History seems to show that precious metals are a good hedge against market pull backs and gold stocks appear to be as low as they have been for a while. Is this a good time to stock up on some precious metals? Your comment will be appreciated.
Q: Is there any major news that is impacting LGO negatively the last few days? Political? or has Vanadium prices dropped significantly? Analyst downgrades? etc. Thanks,
Q: Medgold (MED) is a junior exploration company that has a project in Serbia. The stock has seen a substantial gain this year due to some interesting drill results. In the last few weeks the gains have been erased and in fact the price is lower than it was a year ago. Would you be able to provide any reasons for this decline in the stock price as well as insider ownership/recent trading and cash reserves. Also do have an opinion on the recent exploration results as well as the quality of the resource going forward. Thank you.
Q: Hi,
I read an article earlier this month that Glencore is shutting down production from one of its Cobalt mines until mid 2019. At the time this preport came out, KBLT had a short lived bounce but has since fallen back down to mid $5 range.
What do you think the odds are that Cobalt prices start moving higher again based on the Glencore issue? And if Cobalt moves back to previous levels from earlier this year, would you expect KBLT to move back to its previous levels?
Thanks,
Brad

Q: any small to mid size gold companies that are of interest?
- Franco-Nevada Corporation (FNV)
- Agnico Eagle Mines Limited (AEM)
- iShares S&P/TSX Global Gold Index ETF (XGD)
- Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd. (KL)
Q: I wish to iniate a position in gold. What do you believe is the best investment at this time? Would it be Agnico Eagle as you have chosen for your balanced fund or is there a different investment.?Perhaps an ETF OR Franco Nevada. Others?
Thank-you for your appreciated guidance.
Thank-you for your appreciated guidance.
Q: With a dividend of over 8% now, what are your thoughts on a new position? It sounds like production is well established, and there are rumblings of newly discovered reserves .
- Atico Mining Corporation (ATY)
- Capstone Copper Corp. (CS)
- Amerigo Resources Ltd. (ARG)
- Copper Mountain Mining Corporation (CMMC)
Q: I am considering buying a small basket of jr. copper producers. This is based on the recovery of copper prices up to the $3.50 to 4.00 dollar level in the next 2 years. Would you buy any of the aforementioned stocks and in what order?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Greetings 5i,
Recent article I found had me thinking about iShares Global Gold Miners ETF (RING) as a decent large cap gold miner ETF. It's in USD unfortunately.
Could you lend your opinion on this ETF and is there a CDN denominated version or alternative? What weight in a diversified portfolio? Is there a small cap gold etf you like as well?

Q: HI guys
Valore metals has announced that they will be issuing rights to current shareholder at $ .10, they have already done a 10-1 rollback, so I guess there will be more dilution by basically doubling the share count, if I read it right. With the stock trading at $.27 would that not mean that the stock would be worth $.14, if that is the case would the play not be, to buy more shares and take advantage of the rights offering. What are your thoughts of the company in general.
Thanks
