Q: When you last commented on Neo Performance Materials back in late July, you noted that "revenues have been declining since 2018 which is a trend we do not like to see."

The Q2 results reported Aug. 10th show the revenue decline continuing. Despite that, the price has risen more than 25% from late July. Is this purely sector driven, or are other factors at play?

Marc.

Q: Hi,
Pardon my ignorance ,but I would think that what Jay Powell said today (16 Sept) would actually be bullish for stocks and gold.
My reason is that low interest rates for a long period of time will induce people to take risk and invest in stocks in order to conserve their purchasing power. They will also borrow more money for purchases etc. In addition, as interest rates remain low , the money supply is being inflated which should actually cause the dollar to fall and hence, commodities like gold that are quoted in US dollars to actually rise.
However , after his speech and even after market close, the markets, including the futures are pointing down and so is gold. To my surprise, the US dollar is up.
My last point is, if the entire worlds central banks are inflating their money supply, should this not have the added advantage of markets benefiting and that will include gold too.
Is my concept of economics skewed?

Thanks,

Q: Hi team,
I currently have holdings in the above companies and ETFs, and with the exception of MAG I am up between 12-90% on all of these. I am thinking that I should take some profits to reduce my exposure in the gold and silver sector.
Are there any of these that you would recommend getting out of, or would I be better to pare down my holding in each to get back to an acceptable percentage of my portfolio?
Also, if I was to hold some of these longer term, say 1-3years, can you please rank them in order of which you would recommend holding for that length of time.
thanks as always,
Paula

Q: I am biased to see gold continue to move higher as we get closer to the US election. Particularly if Biden wins, since Trump will no doubt contest the results and pretty much do all he can to remain in the White House beyond Inauguration Day, resulting in heightened volatility.

At the same time, I could also see a scenario where the US$ rallies on the back of a FTQ bid amid this volatility.

So does one add to gold exposure with the view that the US$ rallies in the coming months? Or do you think any potential uptick in gold will be mitigated by a stronger US$?

And if you were to be relatively bullish on gold, would you buy, say, XGD, or would you add a company like FNV or ABX?

Thanks in advance.

Q: HI,
Sometime in april, Great Bear had a « plan of arrangement » and a spin-off of GBR Royalties. The then stock owners got some shares. This new entity is not listed on any stock exchange. Why the spin-off and what the current owners are supposed to do with these?. Do they have any value? I was interested in GBR but I do not like this kind of shuffle …What do you think of GBR at this price, they show good results ?
Good week-end.

Q: I have no exposure to gold in my portfolio. I must reduce my exposure to one of my four largest holdings (ATD.B, GIL, HCG, SJ) to make this purchase. I was planning on buying FNV and/or AEM. If I only purchased one gold company which one would you pick? Which 2 companies would you sell to make this purchase?
