Q: Peter
please comment on Starr Peak Mining LTD (STE-X).
I have a couple of thousand mad money to buy a small cap mining company and was wondering if this might fit the bill.
On May 4th they reported maiden drilling results. I can't figure if they were good or not.
April 22 Starr Peaks formed World Class Advisory Team and strengthens management. Do you know them?
March 18 Starr Peak Exploration LTD name change to Starr Peak Mining.
I realize this is a small cap but at the end of the day is it buyable or can you name something else that you might like better?
Thanks Ron

Q: Thoughts on this newer precious metal royalty company, or more specifically, the management team? Thank you
Q: I purchased a small position on the last dip with a short term hold in mind. I’m currently sitting on the fence whether to add to my position or to sell and move elsewhere. If I sell I’m considering LUN. Thoughts?
Q: Hi Peter...I believe SQM mines most of it's Lithium in Chile. Possibly the company is domiciled in Chile which may protect it. Do you know if the legislators intend to revise the royalties on all mineral extraction, including Lithium, besides targeting the gold / copper producers? If production of any material is reduced then higher prices might be expected. Of course too high prices may put an end to the demand side of the party generally. Maybe the internal combustion engine will hang around a bit longer than expected!
Thanks,
Jim

Q: Hi Peter...You have noted FM's high debt load. I once owned Inmet Mining which was taken over by FM, primarily to take control of Inmet's Panama copper claims. (The Panama claims were not mine at the time. Not even sure it was an ore body). The mine development was, I think, a big bite for FM. However they did develop those Panaama "copper ore claims" into a working mine. I believe the mine has now been operating for about 18 months. Does the mine seem to be producing copper at the cost and quantity anticipated? In other words is the mine as profitable as it was hoped for? If so do you know if FM has started to pay off the loans?
Thanks,
Jim
Thanks,
Jim
Q: Hello to all
As I read the Q&A this morning and learned about the problems in Chile, I understood why Lundin was down yesterday and was so out of line with its sector. I just opened a position, bad timing. What is its weight in Chile exactly and do you still trust this company for the short, medium or long term (with its current valuation). Maybe it would be better to liquidate the position. What do you think about it?
Thank you very much.

Q: I happily sold June 18, 2021 calls today against my long XME position. Given that this yielded a, to me, amazing 4.47%, I anticipate a Summer of repeating (I hope) this process. Do you perceive that the metals "surge" is in my favor? (note: being assigned would not disturb me in the least) What is your position on the value of covered call writing for income purposes?

Teck Resources Limited Class A Multiple Voting Shares (TECK.A)
Q: I have growing concern about my TECK investment. Although the company has many operations worldwide it appears to have significant copper +... producing mines as well as development projects in Chile and Peru.
Reuters, on May 17, ran an article titled "In world’s top copper region, political risk rises" The discussion suggests that Chile is overhalling its constitution and debating royalty changes. Peru's president has promised to make changes to keep 70% of mining profits in the country. Also, Peru has an election in June and a little-known socialist candidate is leading in the polls. I understand that both countries are struggling financially.
I would like to know how important are Chile and Peru to TECK's revenue and profit and your assessment of the potential problems for the company. I also own RIO and TKO for base metal exposure. If I sell TECK, what would you recommend as a possible replacement?
With appreciation
Ed

Q: This question might be a bit far afield, but I’d appreciate any thoughts you have on SRHI and how the latest political developments in Chile might affect investments there going forward, especially in the mining sector. (ECH, the iShares Chile ETF, is down more than 10% today.)

Q: Retired, dividend-income investor....normally. Assume I already have a balanced portfolio.
Considering topping up a 90% XIT position (my Technology weighting is 7.5%).....or...buying a small position in Copper Mtn (CMMC)....(my Materials weighting is 5.0)%. Reading prior copper questions indicates that you think there is much more room to run in Copper...for a while. Assume a roughly 1 year holding.
Second question = oil better than copper over the next year or so?
So, I guess the question is = please rank 1 year performance (best to worst) for Technology, Copper, Oil.
Thanks....Steve
The conservative side of me = XIT. The aggressive side of me = CMMC.

Q: i seem to have an overload of miners. can you suggest what i should trim or do i hold everyone for the economic expansion yet to come and hope cooper will remain as valuable as experts seem to say for the pending electrification of the vehicle and infrastructure ...thx much
Q: have you heard of this co and if so what do you know
Q: What would be your top 3 picks to benefit from the demand for copper given the focus on infrastructure in both China and the U.S.?
