Genworth Financial just reported Q3 earning, and it's very disappointing. Stock has been down 50% so far today. I would appreciate your opinion on this company. Thanks!

Q: I have a 3.85% postion in XGD right now with a 22% loss so far. My question to you is should I be cost averaging in this ETF or should i cut my losses and take that money and invest in another sector on the way up. From what i understand the recovery in gold could take years rather than months. If switching sectors makes sense what sector and what ETF would you recommend.
I did a simple screen of US stocks and came across this one with a low PE (below 10) and a modest dividend (above 2%). Why has it performed so poorly and is it reasonably safe to invest for the medium term?
Q: I typically like to use what I view as short term blips to buy good quality companies. However, sometimes what I think of as a short term blip turns into multiple other issues. Do you think that the dip in BNS share price is a buying opportunity, or would you be worried that there may be other issues lurking?
Thanks
Bryan
What are your thoughts on FIE (iShares Canadian Financial Monthly Income ETF)?
It looks good on paper - good diversification, good dividends, but on the other hand performance over 5 years pales in comparison to something like BNS.
Is it worth it for the instant diversification in the financial sector, or are you better with 2-4 stocks?
Q: Home is reporting earnings tomorrow which I expect will be good, with the continuing strong real estate market. I wonder if events like earnings reports are good times to buy or to sell, particularly with financial stocks?
Q: What are your current thoughts on IBN (ICICI) in a fully topped up TFSA? It seems to me that India is showing significant potential with the new government and new CEO at the bank.

Q: Hello Peter, IGM has corrected back to the $45.00 range. Is this a good entity point for the dividend yield and a 1 or 2 year time frame back into the $52.00 range. Is this a stock worth holding?
Q: Do you have any insight as to why TMC continues to be so weak? I know they cut their distribution in July. Would you consider it interesting at current levels?
