What do you think about FTN? It has grown nicely over the months due to the strength of the financial sector and coupled with capital gains is also paying a hefty dividend. Their dividend I think you mentioned is considered return of capital. What are the risks of investing in this product considering the finance sector continues its upward trend

Q: i know people have been asking about Counsel Corp and it's recent declines, and i was wondering if you thought it was a buy at current levels? Is this a company you still view +vely for the future? Do you like the current valuation on the stock? I'm debating whether adding Counsel to my portfolio of Wanted Technologies (granted they are very different). They would make up a small speculative portion of my portfolio.

Q: Hello Peter.
I am always looking for a home for my cash when not fully invested. Money markets provide a skinny but safe return.
I have noticed a couple of senior loan ETFs ie blk and fsl.
My understanding is in a world of increasing interest rates the holdings in these ETF will have their yields also increase (floating) thus the best of 2 worlds. Knowing there is no Santa Clause what am I missing

Q: Hi Gang. I have about a 20% position in Financials and am looking to either (1) average up on Home Capital Group from a 3.3% position to a 4%+ position or (2) I may start a 2.5% position in Equitable Group (EQB) because of its growth prospects and ultra low p/e.

Other possibilites instead of adding to my financial weighting is VRX or CSU because I am underweight the Pharmas and Tech. Your thoughts would be appreciated regarding my weighting in the Financials and HCG vs EQB at current valuations.
