Q: Hello 5i crew -

I've had my eye on Element Financial for awhile now. I know you consider it expensive at this point. If you cannot recommend a price entry, can you advise of a metric or two you would watch before pulling the trigger?

How much faith do you have with Mr. Hudson as CEO? He seems to have big plans. My concern is his history. The Newcourt Credit Group that he had built didn't exactly end very well. Your thoughts?

Thanks.

Jim

Q: Regarding the question about Fiera Capital's recent share price weakness, the 4-month hold came off yesterday from September's private placement financing which was done at $10.75. Possibly some investors taking gains off the table.

Q: Hi In Dec 31/08 I took a position in the Big 5 Can Banks. The current result are BMO +17.46% CM +19.56% BNS +11.61% TD +23.61%
RY+34.08%.BNS has for some reason lagged behind and lately since I enlarged my position in this stock it has been on a toboggan.
Even today the others are in green BNS red would you hold or should I cut my losses and move on ?

Q: We have full positions in the 5 major Canadian banks. I notice that the pundits reguarly recommend TD and BNS as the top picks, but I have found that BMO consistently beats BNS, growing more than BNS when the market is up and falling less when the market is down. I understand that BNS has more assets in the rather shaky Latin American countries but have never considered that an advantage. BMO has more interests in the US market, a much stronger market. It also pays a better dividend than BNS. Your thoughts?
