Q: CBL has turned into a falling knife. Past commentary suggest that the company may go private. Is going private essentially a forced sale at depressed prices? More specifically, would it have the effect of locking-in current shareholders' losses, or is there any way shareholders can benefit from a post-private recovery? Is it fear of this event that is now driving the price down?
Q: I don't own any and was thinking of picking up a large position for year end. What do you think of this idea and the sector over all? What weighting would you give them? How many should I own? Which ones would you recommend?

Q: Royal's latest preferred offering seem to be surprisingly good one, is it?? 5.5%yield and 4.53% reset. Is it a good buy? How will future interest increase effect the price? Is it trading, has a trading symbol?
Many thanks for your help. J.A. P, Burlington

Q: TMX Group about 10%... I don't a drop of 10% on the stock exchange. Any comments?
Q: Hello- I found this article interesting and concerning:
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-investor/inside-the-market/big-yields-in-banks-preferred-share-offerings-raise-questions/article27653310/?cmpid=rss1
In your opinion, what does this say about the banks' need to raise capital, and about their long term view of interest rates and the economy here in Canada? Should we be nervous?

Q: Hi Team, Thanks for the super fast response on my LB question. In closing you say: "We would not see it as an must-own name." I am wondering if you could please expand on that comment. My information shows this stock is a dividend "aristocrat" and LB's stock price performance has exceeded that of the major banks YTD and over the last 1 year. Over the last five years it is a middle of the pack performer. Any further thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks again, Michael
Thanks again, Michael
Q: Hi Team, Can you please let me know what you think about LB's just-announced Treasury Offering of Common Shares via Bought Deal at $52.00. Do you know why they are raising the money and why the shares are being offered below the current market value of $53.89? Is this a positive step for the company and/or shareholders?
Thank you, Michael

Q: can I get your opinion on starting a position in timbercreek (TMC)? although it has been on a LT steady decline, I'm interested in TMC for income and is currently yielding 9.6%, or should I avoid it due to housing market risks not fully priced in? thanks again...JOhn
Q: Is there a bank etf that covers the big banks that you would recommend for kids that may not have enough yet to invest in a single bank stock, or would you recommend a specific bank stock instead just to eliminate fees? Thanks again. John
Q: I have been considering buying ZWB and naturally prefer to buy when on sale. In light of the drop in bank prices, including this ETF, is this a particularly good or bad time to invest in ZWB for long-term investors seeking income? Thank you.
Q: Hey Guys I'm looking at a couple of the asset managers that look rather interesting. Sprott closing at $1.97 with a yield of 6%, is the dividend sustainable? I know you can't say much about the company but looks like an interesting long term entry point for patient investors. Also Aston Hill closing at $0.285 with a yield of 7%. I know both names are higher risk but both look very interesting from a long term perspective. Both run by smart individuals , I think:)
Q: I currently own this stock but it is only 1% of my portofolio. I am down 14% and would like to buy more. You often recommend not to average down but would it be okay to average down and buy more to top it to 2%

Q: What's with BNS? It's been dropping all week. Can you shed some light on this and what is he outlook for it?Thanks very much,
Q: FC-T has a high yield over 7%, which is a better return than any of it's convertible debentures. a free cash flow of 5.47M, However a book value of 10.28. They have never reduced their dividend. Do you see this company as a reasonable investment for income.
Q: Hello 5i Team,
I was wondering if you could give me your thoughts on the current valuation of Ffh? Would this be a good long term investment for the next 10-15 yrs?
Thanks

Q: Hi Team,
Thank you for your diligence,Insight and response time.
I would be grateful for your opinion on the 2015 CWB Financial report, are there any disguised 'one time' items and what is the significance of the 'teb'lines? Andrew

Q: Wouldn't a downturn in the economy be neutral for this company as it backs up the loans with overcollateralization (I think it was 130% last quarter) and therefore an increase in company defaults would end up okay for their balance sheet once things were worked out? Thanks.
Q: Hi Friends!
I have owned Onex for some time and have done well with the stock. Is this a difficult company to assess in your view? Do you feel it continues to be a good long term hold?

Q: Hi ...can you comment on the current apparent disconnect between the AIG stock price and the company's warrants . The stock is currently trading close to it's year high ...yet the warrants are off over 4$ . Seems too rapid in terms of time erosion on these warrants as they don't expire till 2021 ....lots of time left .. they trade over 29$ in August . ...an opportunity?
