Q: Hello! I invested some of my young son's money into bkcl, thinking that Canadian banks are reliable and it will grow over time. The fees for the ETF are high, but it pays about 12% dividend monthly. It actually pays more, but I have deductions as I don't live in Canada. What is your opinion about this kind of etf, ie based on Canadian banks, high management fee but very high regular dividend? Thank you!

Q: A couple years back there was some type of change in US tax law that made many LPs subject to IRS withholding of 15% of sale proceeds (non-recoverable), regardless of where the owner lived in the world. The various Brookfield entities said they were not affected, but it has always made me a little cautious. Now BAM is looking at relocating to NY. I realize they are a corp, not an LP, but is there any potential they could get caught up in the withholding issue? I hold BIPC and BN. Any reason for concern here?
Thank-you

Q: Portfolio Analytics has suggested I reduce my financials component. Over my several accounts, I own these 6 banks in Canada. What order would you sell them in (ignoring capital gains impact) ?

Q: BMO is getting back up to its 52 week high. However, it has been in this range twice before in this year and then they announce their quarterly results and the stock drops 10%. They will be announcing their results in about 4 weeks. Is it time to reduce my exposure to see what happens with the results?

Q: I like BN and have owned for a while mostly on the idea that they are smarter than me and doing things with money I could never do. But, how do you evaluate a company like BN? What objective metrics would I use? Regular financial like PE and ROE don't seem to fit per se...so when do I know I could sell for instance or buy some more as it's a 'bargain'?
