Q: So Bill Ackman has a chunk of Brookfield Corp. shares. What percentage does he own ? What do you think he is up to ? I imagine the “ founding fathers “ would circle the wagons to prevent too much mischief from occurring. Any scenarios as to what could happen. I own some shares and am doing well , thanks to your recommendation. Derek

Q: Am I reading this right, so BN no longer owns the 76% of BAM's asset mgmt business? How much does BN still own of BAM the company?

Finally, last week we closed the previously announced transaction between BAM and Brookfield Corporation, and as a result, BAM, with 1.6 billion shares now outstanding, owns the entire asset management business at an equity market capitalization approaching $100 billion.”

Q: Could you please comment on Fairfax Financial Quarterly/FY earnings released today.

We own Intact Financial, but are looking to add another P&C Insurance Co. ( which also is in asset management business - we already have Brookfield Corp. }

Fairfax seems to be executing very well and stock performance supports this thesis.
Company is also buying back its stock, aggressively.

How do you assess and rate this Co. , on valuation, debt, risk and consistency of Growth over long period of time ?

Would you be comfortable to start a new position or add at current levels ?

Thank You

Q: At 62, I purchased MFC as a fairly stable income stock with some growth. Its growth over the past year has surprised me and I have substantial unrealized gains in an unregistered account. Which is all to the good, but the stock has been trending fairly steadily down the last three months. Did it get too expensive or is this sector-related? I note SLF has also done nothing good the last three months. Do you see further downward momentum (especially if inflation worries come back) or a return to stability for MFC? If the former, would you advise a trade to a more stable company/sector and if so which?

Q: In your response to a recent question you included a remark to the effect that there’s a lot of concern about Canadian banks right now. Would you please expand on this comment in regard to the nature and source of the concern you mentioned.

Q: After today's earnings call, I'm still down 28% overall on these guys. I don't need the $, happy to let it sit for the long run. My question is, am I better off investing that money somewhere else or do you foresee a future where I stand to benefit by sticking with them. If you do suggest moving on, provide a suggestion pls.

Q: Ethereum has dropped from a high of $4100 to below $2600, could you please explain why, also when Bitcoin has generally stayed in the $100k range? Is this a buying opportunity? If it is, is there a Canadian ETF to put money into? Thanks in advance. Also, many thanks for your answer on my previous question on BTC, it was extremely detailed and well thought out.
