Q: Hi 5i: I am presently underweight financials ( TD - 6% ). Which of these would you add BNS, SLF or GSY? Would you add a combination of all? What is the market weight for financials and would now be a suitable time to add?

Thank you for my success!

Q: I have been lucky with MS which I accumulated during periods when many analysts seemed to misunderstand the poor thing. MS has become a full position. However when reviewing some analyses following MS’ recent results, opinions read as if they were written by bipolar CFAs. Views seem too divided for me to base a decision on. Is it time for me to trim MS —or best to ignore the noise and keep holding. Please do give your reasoning and I would appreciate very much your updating your response to my September 2, 2020 question on MS.

Q: Hi 5i
Bitcoin is a real head scratcher for me. I can't see why anyone would use it as a form of payment considering stories like "that pizza purchase years ago is the equivalent of millions in todays value" or "I have a couple of password tries left before my disk is encrypted and my millions are lost forever" ... so there's goes the asset / store of value argument. Maybe I'm getting old but I just don't get it (having said that I bought a small amount of ether and ripple as a learning exercise a few years back and still hold it ).
In any case, the real question is with more etfs/companies piling into bitcoin related investment, if it were to grow to such an extent as to be bubble territory and subsequently experience a severe pop, would it have any side effects on the rest of the market or specific sectors of the market do you think? i.e. would it ever be anything to be concerned about ?
Thanks
Mike

Q: In a response to a question asked on Friday you said “ For direct bitcoin exposure, we prefer the current Trusts that have been set up, such as GBTC and QBTC.”
What do you think of Wealthsimple as a way to buy cryptocurrency? They offer Bitcoin and Ethereum . I do not know what kind of fees they take.

Q: Hello, I am currently rebalancing my portfolio and would like to exit a position in Financials to increase in other underallocated sectors. To help with my research, how would you rank MFC and GWO for a longer term hold (e.g. RRSP) and any other attributes/parameters that are important to look at?

Thanks for all you do?

Q: Is the financial sector good value at these levels ?
I'm a little concerned investing new money in the banks as rising prices have brought valuations to pre-pandemic levels. Insurance companies not yet there, may be the better value.
Thank-you.
