Q: Good morning 5i team

Altus receives little attention from your subscribers. Its share price has increased after the sale of its property tax business, debt pay down, and share re-purchase.
I am trying to decide if their shares represent a solid opportunity to now buy.

Several questions please.

Does 5i view Altus as having meaningful competitive advantage versus peers in providing CRE intelligence services?

Does 5i view Altus as a 'wide, narrow or no moat' company?

Does 5i feel that Altus has a significant runway to gain market share, grow revenue and profit in the CRE market over the next few years?

And finally, would 5i recommend buying Altus shares now, or perhaps wait for a pullback?

Thank you.

Q: Good afternoon 5i,

I looked back and the last question on this company was late May. As we come to the close of July, the "noise" on this company seems to be picking up, with a fair number of "experts" in the various media suggesting it is one to hold onto as the purchase of Discover evolves and Capital One starts taking advantage of the synergies. The noise being generated is enough to get me curious.

I would appreciate your opinion on this company as a buy at current prices, with the idea of holding in an RRSP and switching out of one of my Canadian Financials in an effort to diversify. If not a buy now, is there a price where it is, or is this company one to stay back from?

Thanks for your insights.

Q: Looking for your thoughts on the earnings and why the 6+% drop. I went through the news release and only issue I see was with UK and US results. Is that enough to move the stock that much in a day? The CEO seemed quite positive on the results and future prospects. Seems to have been trending down over the past month after hitting all time highs. Would you consider this current price a buying opportunity? Thanks for this great service.

Q: I have no exposure to crypto currencies but I am intrigued by various forecasts of major future price gains for Bitcoin and other products.
I would welcome your thoughts on how to approach this subject, suggestions of online references I can read, which stocks and/or ETFs to review and your overall advice on how to maximize returns while limiting risk.
Many thanks for your ongoing great service.

Q: After a great deal of scepticism, I have just begun dipping my toes into crypto. I have half a position in HOOD and would appreciate your advice on strategy going forward. As a balanced growth investor, how much exposure would you recommend in the crypto world? Assuming it's greater than the 2.5% currently held, how would you proceed? Thank you.

Q: GSY went from a darling to relatively flat, while PRL continues on a tear. Do you still recommend GSY with the same enthusiasm/do you expect it to resume its upward path, and would you advise PRL instead at this point?

Thank you,

Peter

Q: Hi,
I am thinking of selling my CIBC stock, as it has done well, but now has become relatively expensive compared to historical averages, and the dividend yield is comparatively lower. Can I get your top 3 choices in each of 1) big banks/financial institutions 2) mid cap financial institutions. and can I get your top 2 in small cap financials. All Canadian please.
cheers, Chris

Q: Hello

Can you please comment on Laurentian Bank. I am very disappointed in this company as the price has fallen significantly in addition to dividends cut a few years back.
its in my registered account, so cannot utilizes the losses
My question, Do you think that they are a potential take over target? Perhaps TD?

With BCE, again very disappointed in this company. With their recent dividend cut, do you think we have seen bottom on stock price? I do see that it has had some growth lately, but it has a long way to go

With CGO, Do you think that their is an opportunity for both Telus and Cogeco to merge? Or see CGO as a take over target now?

Thank you
