Q: Dear Peter et al:

You can call me a "Nervous Nellie" if you want (!) but I am older than you and know that sometimes the story like TD to play out can take a looong time!

If one is sitting in a small loss position in TD, worth switching to another bank like RY or BNS? Or move into a riskier stock like GSY or an insurance co like SLF? I know it is comparing Apples VS Oranges. Nothing against TD. I am sure it will bounce back. But I can "see" it moving sideways for a while. Just an old man's opinion.

Q: Hi Team,
In reference to a Gsy question answered today you were asked “how high can Gsy share price go? “. An open ended question with no time frame. You answered $250. Is that this years target? Or next years ? As a general rule can it be assumed that a company share price should follow the earnings growth over time? In which case Gsy should be a $1000 stock within 7-8 yrs roughly with today’s earnings growth rate compounded, for example .

Thanks,
Shane

Q: Hello Peter,
Other than Jason Donville's negative comments on Propel, could the insider selling be another reason for downward movement of the stock. I do find it surprising that insiders sold quite a bit, at much lower than the peak price. Could this be due to the stock options being vested on that particular date? I would appreciate your comments and thanks for prior responses. Here is the site i am referring to

Q: what did you make of bns quarterlies? This stock has been a laggard for over 10 years and dividend increase yearly does not even keep up with inflation. They usually increase dividend this quarter [albeit very small] but this quarter have kept dividend the same . I realize they pay a 6.5% dividend but as a shareholder you would like to
see a rising dividend yearly especially if price has done nothing for years. What do you
think as a dividend investor.

Q: I am finalizing RRIF portfolio focusing on safety and yield. I am trying to decide between Canoe Income fund and SLF. Performance-wise they look similar to me but with EIT having a higher yield. I would value your advice on selecting one of these unless you have an even better suggestion then that would be welcome as well. Thanks for all you do! Dan

Q: What are your views on TD earnings and what lies ahead? Stock performance is very disappointing. How long do you think it will take for TD to surface and start moving upwards. Looking for a view over the next 3 - 12 months or will it take longer than this? I guess I should ask how much lower you think it might go? When should buyers start buying?

Q: Hi, Propel stock chart looks horrible and stock can't seem to find support. Stock is now down 25% after the earnings release ( $29.89 to $22.40), after a strong quarter.

Mr Jason Donville commented in a recent interview that they were buying the stock at $6-$7 level, last year and they have been sellers for past few months, as stock has become expensive. This could also be true with many other early investors.

Propel has a market cap of $750 mln and is still relatively small cap. Do you believe that its multiple could grow, despite its size/sector risks and stock could trade higher ?

What is your advice for an investor who bought in at $22-$25 level ?

Thank You

Q: Currency . I went to TD bank and wanted to cash Euro's and put them in my US account in american dollars. Clerk advised this could not be done. I would have to change Euro's to Canadian dollars and then change Canadian to US. 5i is this normal I would have to pay all exchanges. I decided to go to an exhange and they did this no problem. What's is TD under such scrutiny from Gov't.

Q: With Buffet's recent disclosure of a large position in CHUBB and increasing natural disasters like forest fires in Canada etc would you reccomend having an allocation in the insurance sector? If so any names that standout?
Thanks, Lesley
