Q: I'm getting mixed messages from 5i regarding EQB . In several answers you have it as recommended buy ...... But in a reply to Adam on Aug. 28/25 you make the following statement . ...... " But with some overall economic concerns continuing it is also hard to foresee a big recovery in the next several quarters as well. "

This suggests it will be dead money for a while .... Looking at your report on the company it appears that circumstances have changed . In your " Valuation " section you make the following statement .....

" Management noted that with the recent and expected easing of interest rates, EQB is seeing signs of renewed mortgage activity and strong loan growth momentum is expected going into 2025. " ...... Well that didn't happen ...... Are you planning to update that report in the near future ? ....

I own shares { in a RRIF } and am in a bit of a quandary on why I shouldn't sell in favour of greener pastures ..... So please explain to me how I should evaluate holding or selling ? .........Thanks for your terrific service .....

Q: since BNT is exchangeable into BN share for share 1. is there any point in. buying new shares of BNT when you already hold shares of BN? 2. what percent of BNT is held by BN. ? 3. could BNT separate itself from its ability to exchange into BN so it would be a stand alone wealth mgt /annuitiy/life insurance company ? thanks Richard

Q: Hello ,
Are the US banks still a good buy or are the PEs getting too high? I was thinking of an etf or JPM? Any thoughts please. Also, what is causing the renewables to surge as the etf is perking up.. Much appreciate it.

Q: Not that I'm complaining, but what is with Canadian bank stocks in the last six months? I'm used to slow, plodding stocks, and they are rivalling Google for momentum. All of them are up from 23%-38% in the last six months with no sign of a slowdown. It's not like we have a booming economy.

Q: I have a large position in Bns and thinking of selling 50% of it with a nice profit
In a question today regarding TRI and the banks you said the banks may not have a lot of upside left
Regarding Bns specifically, what would you say the upside left in it at current price $88
I would like to deploy the money in another stock for a 3 year hold -suggestions? Thanks

Q: Visa’s business model has come under attack this year by alternate digital payment systems, including coins. And this morning KLARNA which goes public, and its Swedish CEO confidently asserted it will take business away from credit card companies. Swedes are not given to bragging so I take KLAR seriously. I am tempted to sell Visa and invest the proceeds in COF or AXP, whom I see as credit card companies that do more than collect tolls.

Am I wrong in thinking this? Is Visa management’s past record such that they are nimble enough , tech-savvy enough to deal with recent challenges?

Q: Hello Team,

Would you sell full position in XYZ to buy HOOD? Would you buy now or wait for a pull back in HOOD? Say around $105? I am looking for real/stable growth over long periods of time.

Thank you for sharing your insight into these two companies.

Best,
Saeed :)

Q: I have held BAM in a taxable account since the spin off.: position size of 1.65% and a gain of 109%. I also hold BN in both taxable and registered accounts: 2.97% position size and 60% gain. My aim going forward is to maximise growth. Is it a good idea to keep holding both or should I consolidate all into BN going forward? There are enough capital losses accrued to offset the capital gain on BAM if that is sold.

Q: could you confirm if Pagaya DOES NOT take any credit obligation from issuing personal loan asset-backed securities?
This was my ChatGPT research that provided this answer.
This would be an ideal business that just facilitates these transactions.
I put a laughably small amount into this stock so that i would not forget about it. I am up 23% and now want to initiate a 2% position.

Q: I know you have mentioned HOOD as a high conviction stock before. I haven’t followed it but have always thought of it as a bet on crypto. In doing some reading, I see the platform is quite popular among young people, not just for trading crypto but also for stock trading. It has recently expanded outside the US and just announced they are launching a social network. Could I please get your thought on the new social platform? Could it have huge potential? HOOD has had a huge runup and is now around its all-time high. Would you buy HOOD today? If so, would you want for a pullback? Thanks.

Q: HI guys,

On CNBC last week Michael Saylor discussed MSTR and one of the things he mentioned was it was designed to be 2X BTC movement.

I'm talking short term history here, not over years.

In the past 5 days Mstr is -1.32%, 1 month it is -15.96% and the past 3 months it is - 13.43%

However BTC has performed past 5 days +4.67%, 1 month - 2.31% and 3 month +11.1%.

As you can see BTC has outperformed MSTR quite substantially over the recent past.

Why would you think this is happening? Is the MSTR trade done? What do you reccomend for BTC exposure?

Thanks

Sheldon
