Q: I am trying to understand tax filing implications if BAM becomes a US domiciled company. If BAM shares with a cost base over 100K were held in a non registered account and BAM became US domiciled, would this holding then need to be declared in a T1153 form?

Q: Hi,
Given the share' s pullback after the annouced departure of Fiserv's President and CEO (he is joining Trump's team), do you see this as a buying opportunity ?
Thanks

Q: Hi there!
Yesterday I saw an analyst had raised his 2025 target price to “outperform” from 3.25 to 5.00 based on strong improvements mostly from the Triad business and recovery of the RV Lending business…what do you think?
Thank you!

Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. Class A Limited Voting Shares (BAM)
Q: This Friday, BAM shareholders (but no other Brookfield entity, correct?) will vote on becoming US-domiciled, and, as-such, eligible for inclusion in US indices.
Assuming approval, (a) should this change catalyze an expansion of its P/E multiple (or is that already priced-in), and (b) should this change catalyze, indirectly, a proportional expansion for BN?

Q: I hold both of these in my TFSA. BN for its growth potential - BAM for both dividend appreciation and some, albeit modest growth. I am uncertain about my options in 2025 if the plans of converting BAM to a U.S. domiciled corp. go through. Should I be transferring BAM to my taxable portfolio? Selling BAM and adding to the BN? or ? ? This somewhat weird query is not so much a question as a request for reasoned tho'ts. on options and their possible implications. Thanks for your help over the past five+ years -- Happiness to all in 2025, Bill
Q: Good morning Team, Regarding the consequences of Trumps threats I read the following (in the Globe): 'Our most sensitive name to Canadian economy and labour markets is Goeasy Ltd' What are your thoughts about that quote in particular and the most exposed Canadian companies in general? Thank you, Adel
Q: I read this morning in the G&M there’s a push by consumer advocates for government legislation to be broadened to include restricting highly profitable credit insurance charges by alternative lenders. To what extent is even the threat of this a headwind for Goeasy and Propel? As as second question, should this restriction find its way into legislation, to what extent would this impact Goeasy and Propel?
Q: To get a well diversified portfolio of value oriented stocks, with a large component of cash, can I do better than simply buying BRK?
Q: Looking at beginning a position in Brookfield, but am hesitant when looking at price relative to 52 week high, yield is low, and P/E is very high. Could you please outline the rational for your support in light of the foregoing which may or may not be relevant. Thanks
Q: We have a 2% ownership. The stock has been drifting lower for a few days and down again, today on no specific news.
Would you be comfortable to add at current levels ( $264 -$265 ) for a long term hold ?
Thank You

Q: Hello 5i
I remember you offering articles on understanding bitcoin. At the time I wasn't interested but am now. But, although I have searched, I cannot find them on the site. I wonder if you could re direct me on that. I think you have also mentionned Biance. Are there some articles on that, as well?
thanks for your help and have a good holiday

Q: I am thinking about selling my TD shares and replacing them with another Canadian bank or financial services company. Do you thinking selling TD is a good idea or should I hold on and wait for a rebound? If I sell what would be your first choice of a Canadian bank or financial serviices company? Looking for growth, yield and stability for total return for a 5 year hold.
Q: Can I please have your view of Genie? (GNE:US)
Thanks in advance.

Q: Just a follow up on POW. My understanding is that POW owns a majority stake in Wealthsimple. If this is accurate, does this move the needle for POW or is wealthsimple too small? Thank-you
Q: I know nothing about bitcoin but I understand that MSTR stock holds a lot of bitcoin. Why is the stock performance of MSTR so much better than IBIT bitcoin ETF. Shouldn't they be reasonably close and correlated? What is MSTR's fundamental business and how do they make money?
