Q: I hope this is not as dumb as it may appear....There are many very good companies and ETF's that are illiquid, some trade by appointment only. Is the biggest factor in this the fact that the shareholders are unwiiling to part with stocks due to their perceived quality of the company/ETF?

Q: Not sure if this is within your purview but I am looking to diversify into Intn'l and Emerging markets. I need an ETF or two with a dividend yield of 3% plus. Currently have UXM for my US exposure and am thinking of VEE for Emerging but not sure about one for Intn'l. Another option would be CYH to cover all 3 areas. Any ideas
Q: What would be the best way to capture Japan industrial and companies? I am considering EWJ but this comprising only big caps. Could you suggests something? Thanks.
Q: Hi 5i,
I've heard that U.S. regional banks (NOT the big boys who gave us 2008) have good potential for growth vis a vis other North American financials. 1. Do you agree? 2. If yes, do you have any individual names that come to mind? 3. Are there any ETFs that are heavily weighted toward U.S. regional banks?
Thank you for your comments and hope the trip is going well.

Q: Can i get your opinion on ZDJ. Would like to buy a DOW index if there is a major dip but not sure ZDJ is liquid enough. Maybe there is an alternate ETF. Thanks
Q: 5i Team,
In a previous question, you advised that good portfolio diversification should include 65% Cdn equities, 25% US equities, and 10% global equities. Right now I am severally underweight in global equities, with a 3.5% holding in Emerging Markets PIE-N, and that’s it. I’m looking at topping up to your recommended 10% level with other ETFs, but don’t know what to buy? I’m relatively young and willing to move up the risk curve to get higher returns, what would you suggest? I’m thinking one ETF that tracks Mexico @ 3.5% weighting, and one for Japan @ 3.5% weighting, perhaps? Or should I be looking at Europe? Or just go at a full 10% with PIE-N or some other Global ETF??? Oh the choices….

Hello,
I bought quite a bit of Claymore Gold Bullion and Claymore Silver bullion which was later bought out by i-shares. Since my purchases there has been a lot of discussion about "paper" gold and now I am wondering whether the bullion is really in the vault? Do you think dealing with the Central Fund of Canada is more reliable? I am losing some sleep on this so your answer will be appreciated!

Q: I would like to invest $100,000 in US market ETF's for a long term hold. What would your recommendations be for ETF selection? Thanks! Linda
Q: Hi, I'm looking to add either VDU and VUN or VTI:US and VXUS:US to my wife's position. She's diversified in Canada but looking for US and foreign exposure for the long haul. The difference between these two sets is one is Cdn and one is US - so essentially this is a currency hedge question. Do you have a preference for which set? Thank you.
Q: Hi, I'm looking to add to my US position. I'm fairly well diversified in Canada but need to add a US consumer staple, a US utility, and a US consumer discretionary. What would be your thoughts on each of those? Thank you.
Q: I own CDZ and some XDV. I notice that ZDV has a higher dividend payment than either of these. How would you rate ZDV compared to them?
Q: XGD - is it a good time to invest in XGD right now? Many thanks.
Q: Hi
What do you think of Wellpoint for a buy right now. The only US stock I have right now is Emerson (EMR). Would a US healthcare ETF be better way to go? If so what would it be? Thanks

Q: What is your outlook for the next two years on technology ETFS? I believe in them but heard Berman on Bermans Call saying that he thought they were the wrong sector to be invested in.
